Incorporating a whole person approach to healing, we will use mind-body therapies, like Brainspotting, EMDR , Somatic Experiencing, and Art Therapy to get out of your head and heal the root of your emotional pain.
Your inner self-critic takes up too much space in your head and you’re struggling with flipping the script. People keep saying you need to "get over it" and that you’re “too sensitive,” as if it’s a bad thing. You’re accused of either being too much or not enough – and sometimes you’re both at the same time! There's a part of you that knows there's more for you out there, but there always seems to be something holding you back. Trying to figure this out on your own has you running in circles. You’re ready to release these limitations and claim your freedom… but you don’t know where to begin.

My training in a variety of treatment modalities including trauma-informed treatment such as EMDR , family systems, relational therapy, somatic therapy, emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT), and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), in addition to our therapeutic relationship has been found to be an effective approach to help you reach your goals.
My focus is to help you become the best version of yourself to benefit not only you but, also, your loved ones because stressors definitely find a way of impacting your role as a partner, parent, child, friend, or employer. Ultimately, your stressors/experiences (e.g., trauma, relationships with parents/partners, work stress, parenting, new life transition, etc.) come together and influence your mood, health, and relationships, which is why I strive to help you learn healthy ways to process and cope. My goal is for you to walk away from every session feeling like you learned something that will benefit you.

Advanced EMDR protocols, hypnosis, and an understanding of the recent breakthroughs in brain science are utilized in the context of supportive psychotherapy.
THERAPY WORKS. IT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Will it work for you? It depends. Y'ever wonder why you're not where you want to be in your life - why things aren't turning out as planned? Image that changing. I have opinions and theories, and I'm willing to share them with you fairly early on. I'm not just going to watch you make the same mistakes over and over again without saying something to you. I won't make your decisions for you, but I will help you examine consequences and encourage you to make better choices.

I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is designed to reduce the emotional intensity attached to the disturbing memories through the use of eye movements or tapping, resulting in a reduction of symptomology.
Trauma, anxiety, and addiction can make you feel stuck. The most important step towards healing is to address the unresolved emotion inside you. Healing requires feelings. Acceptance slowly dissolves pain. When we function from the fear and scarring of our trauma, the cycles continue until we learn how to transmute that energy into love. I apply a Holistic approach that integrates physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual forms of well-being, addressing the “whole” self. Through a holistic framework tailored to your unique needs, the goal is to support you develop a deeper understanding of the self on all these levels.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
