Is your child struggling with emotional or social issues at home or in school? Do you feel lost on how best to support your child at this time? Maybe you feel exhausted and frustrated from constant disagreements, tantrums, and meltdowns. I know how challenging it can be when your child is going through a difficult time and I would love the opportunity to relieve some of that burden. I come to your home for therapy sessions, where your child is most comfortable so I can get to know who they truly are. I see children and adolescents (7-17yrs), and their families, to help them learn the skills to manage anxiety,
ADHD
, and other issues.

Lifespan is a center specializing in mental health diagnosis and treatment across all ages. We specialize in providing psychological testing, neuropsychological evaluations, and neurodevelopmental assessments and provide diagnostic clarity, referrals, resources, and treatment plans. We help in identifying learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, issues with attention, and memory and learning complaints, to name a few. Psychological testing can help to clarify between different diagnoses (e.g.,
ADHD
vs Anxiety), provide answers about general difficulties you or your child may be having, and be used for schools to help accommodate you or your child’s needs. We help you better understand your strengths and identify areas of support. Furthermore, we specialize in pre-surgical evaluations (e.g., bariatric, reconstructive, etc.) and work directly with surgeons to optimize outcomes.

Welcome, and here’s a bit about my practice! I am client-centered in training so therapy is about you and your goals, not mine. I strive to be honest, to “hold up a mirror" to help people get more clear on who they are and what they truly value. I have found that most benefit specifically from this pairing of therapeutic challenge and caring support. My passion is working with people who process differently, might identify as neurodivergent. This includes medical terms like
ADHD
, ASD, personality disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, self-injury, bipolar disorders, etc. The goal is self-acceptance and empowerment!

Are you Autistic or
ADHD
? My clients are self-identified and professionally assessed neurodivergent (Autistic,
ADHD
, and OCD) adolescents and adults, often finding themselves struggling with problems related to their executive functioning, anxiety, or poor self-esteem. I am a neurodivergent-affirming psychologist and emphasize helping clients love themselves. Many of my clients have dealt with a history of invalidation, a lack of proper support, or are seeking specialized help. Often I see neurodivergent clients who have seen previous providers that have been unable to help them find wellness.

My ideal client is someone who is struggling with unhealthy patterns in their life which are blocking them from living a life of joy and contentment. When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
