You’ve always been the one who holds it all together—high-achieving, overfunctioning, thoughtful, maybe even a little perfectionistic. But under the surface, you're exhausted. You’ve spent years managing stress, meeting others’ needs, and pushing through symptoms no one can explain. You’ve done everything you’re supposed to, but it still feels like too much—and not enough. You want more than coping. You want to feel at home in your body, grounded in who you are, and free from the patterns that keep you stuck. You’re ready for a different kind of healing—one that doesn’t just ease the pain, but changes how you move through the world.

You may feel stretched thin, quietly anxious, or numb in a life that looks fine from the outside. Parenting can feel heavier than you expected, self-care keeps slipping to the bottom of the list, and the relationships that matter most feel more complicated than they should — while old trauma quietly shapes how you show up. I help women, couples, and families heal attachment wounds, ease overwhelm, recover from betrayal, and rebuild secure connection. Using EMDR, somatic, and attachment-focused therapy, plus my therapy dog Champ, we'll calm your nervous system and move you from surviving to actually living.

You’re trying to be a good mom, but you’re drowning in overwhelm. The house is a mess, and you feel paralyzed thinking about everything you need to do. You stay up at night feeling guilty about how you reacted to your child. You’ve been crying a lot. Motherhood is not what you expected - at all. You feel grief about what you thought this was going to be. You question if you can even do this. It feels like you’re always letting someone down - whether it’s yourself, your partner, your baby, or your older children.

“What is to give light must endure burning.” ― Victor Frankl. Everyone needs someone to hear them. I am here to lend an ear, be present when life gets tough, and assist you in finding coping skills to weather any storm successfully. Life can be stressful and we all need a helping hand in becoming the most authentic versions of ourselves. I enjoy and welcome working with older teenagers (16+) and adult individuals that want to become more resilient, feel better about themselves, and want to move past their past. I truly believe that our past holds us hostage and prevents us from being in, and enjoying, the present moments in life.

Are you feeling stuck in your relationship, trying everything you can but ending up in the same painful patterns? Or are you worried about your teen, sensing something is off but not sure how to reach her? I work especially with women who are deeply invested in their relationships but feel emotionally exhausted, and teens who are struggling. When you are so close to the situation, it can be difficult to see clearly or know what will actually help. Therapy offers a space to slow down and understand what is happening, so you can move forward with a better sense of your next steps.

Many of the women and teen girls (ages 14+) I work with grew up carrying too much, often as oldest daughters in Latinx families. You may be used to putting others first, keeping the peace, or feeling responsible for everyone around you. Now, you find yourself struggling with anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Therapy can help you understand where these patterns come from, strengthen your voice, and learn to prioritize your needs without carrying so much guilt.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
