I became a mental health professional because I had a period in my late 20s where I found myself in a life transition and existential/ spiritual search. I was fortunate to have connected with some very supportive integrative mental health professionals that weaved mind body elements into their practice. Both the journey of discovery and the modalities used by my mentors inspired me to give back to others in a similar way. As a professional I have found that there is tremendous value in being a catalyst towards personal growth and fostering personal power.

You don't have to carry it alone. As a therapist and a human, I know how heavy life can get - especially when you're the one others rely on. If you've been feeling stuck, burned out, anxious or emotionally distant from yourself, therapy can be a space to finally exhale. To explore, process, and move forward — without pressure, without judgment. I support people who are navigating life transitions, trauma, health challenges, anxiety, or simply feeling lost in the busyness of it all. If that’s you, I’m so glad you’re here.

Because trauma and anxiety live in the body, I integrate somatic therapy to help you move past intellectualizing your problems so you can actually feel the shift in your nervous system.
Tired of feeling like roommates? Are you wanting more sex? Tired of fighting the same fight time and time again? Are you feeling like your concerns are not being heard and your desire to connect is being overlooked? Or maybe you wake up every morning dreading the day. You are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted and the day just started. Or, maybe you're staying up later avoiding going to bed because you know they want sex and you don't? Are you craving more intimacy, more excitement in your life? Together, we can stop the anger dance, feel more present in our bodies, and learn to receive more pleasure in our lives.

Anxiety and depression are easy words to use, experiencing either can halt your ability to move on with simple to more complex life challenges. Trying harder is not the answer, when you find yourself in transition, due to a major loss, acting out family members or serious medical and financial challenges. What you need is an advocate. Additionally with a deep understanding of what it means to be in or have been in a Narcissistic relationship the recovery from possibly years of abuse, requires the help of a professional who can help you see the patterns of narcissism, and unravel the damage it has done to you,

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
