Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, it's never quite enough? Maybe you're constantly second-guessing yourself, struggling with anxiety, carrying the weight of everyone else's expectations, or wondering when you'll finally feel confident in who you are. Whether you're a teen navigating the challenges of growing up, an athlete facing pressure to perform, a parent trying to do it all, or an adult feeling disconnected from yourself, you're not alone.

Everyone is different and their issues are different, but their problems are similar. Many people suffer alone and their quality of life is effected due to them not knowing how to work through their struggles. I have had experience working with clients with trauma both from adulthood and early childhood, betrayal trauma, grief issues, addiction, anxiety and depression, and relationship issues.

Anxiety and depression are easy words to use, experiencing either can halt your ability to move on with simple to more complex life challenges. Trying harder is not the answer, when you find yourself in transition, due to a major loss, acting out family members or serious medical and financial challenges. What you need is an advocate. Additionally with a deep understanding of what it means to be in or have been in a Narcissistic relationship the recovery from possibly years of abuse, requires the help of a professional who can help you see the patterns of narcissism, and unravel the damage it has done to you,

Trauma focused therapy intensives and ongoing traditional therapy offered. Are you a high-functioning adult who looks capable on the outside but feels emotionally exhausted, on edge, or shut down inside? Many of my clients have experienced trauma, chronic stress, or relational wounds and feel stuck in survival mode long after the danger has passed. You may struggle with self-doubt, difficulty trusting your decisions, suppressed anger or guilt, and frustration that past therapy brought insight but not relief. You’re ready to feel calmer, trust yourself again, and experience real change, not just manage symptoms.

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, grieving, or stuck in patterns you can’t break? Struggling to regulate your emotions after a traumatic event or a break-up? You’re not alone. Painful experiences don’t always fade with time — sometimes they stay stored in the body and show up as emotional reactivity, relationship struggles, or a constant sense of being on edge. You may have tried to hold everything together alone, but that can feel exhausting and discouraging. Therapy gives you a supportive space to slow down and understand what’s happening inside you as you process what’s been too heavy to carry all on your own.

FAQ - PMDD Counseling
How can Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) affect mental health?
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) can have a significant impact on mental health. PMDD is a more severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and may cause intense mood-related symptoms in the days or weeks before a period, such as mood swings, irritability, anxiety, sadness, hopelessness, or loss of interest in activities you normally enjoy. For some people, PMDD can also worsen existing mental health concerns, such as anxiety or depression. Symptoms may also affect relationships, work, or school responsibilities, especially when they happen consistently month after month.

How can therapy help with PMDD?
Therapy can help you better understand the emotional patterns that may come with PMDD and help you track symptoms across your cycle, identify triggers, and plan ahead for times when symptoms tend to peak. Therapy may also help you develop coping strategies for managing intense emotions, communicating with loved ones, and reducing the impact PMDD has on work, school, or relationships. Approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be especially helpful for noticing unhelpful thought patterns and building more practical coping skills for responding to distress. PMDD is also commonly treated with medication or hormonal options, so a therapist may encourage you to coordinate with a medical provider if they feel this may be a helpful addition to therapy.

Can a therapist diagnose PMDD?
In many cases, licensed mental health professionals, including therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, can diagnose PMDD. PMDD can also be diagnosed by other medical professionals, such as a primary care physicians (PCPs) or obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYNs).

Should I see a therapist or a psychiatrist to help with PMDD?
Whether you should see a therapist or psychiatrist depends on what kind of support you need. A therapist can help with coping skills, emotional regulation, and general patterns of thinking that may make symptoms harder to manage. A psychiatrist, in contrast, can help assess whether medication may be helpful and prescribe it, when appropriate. Importantly, many people benefit from both therapy and psychiatry. For example, you might see a therapist for ongoing emotional support and a psychiatrist for medication or medical treatment. If you are not sure where to start, your primary care physician can often help you decide what treatment makes the most sense for you.
