I am the owner of Zen Therapy Behavioral Health Services. I am an EMDR certified therapist who treats most mental health disorders by addressing the "trauma" that I believe is always at the root of the problem. As a trauma therapist you will find that my definition of trauma is a lot more broad than what most people would think. I describe trauma as little t trauma where smaller but often repetative incidents like attachment wounds impact our behavior, or as big t trauma which are those big catastrophic incidents that most people think of when thinking of trauma. I would be honored to help you walk through whatever troubles you.

To the strong ones,
You’re the one everyone leans on—but who do you lean on when the weight gets too heavy?
You’ve built a life around being the reliable one, the fixer, and the steady hand in every storm. Whether in your career or your family, you are the person with the answers, the one who 'carries it well.' But high-functioning isn't the same as high-flourishing, and the pressure to maintain that strong exterior has become a silent tax on your peace of mind.
While you’re busy taking care of the world, your own needs have become an after-thought. You deserve a space where you don’t have to perform, or take care of anyone else.

“Therapy that meets you where you are.”
You may be seeking therapy because of anxiety, low mood, relationship stress, past events (or even current events)....or a life transition that has left you feeling uncertain or overwhelmed. Our experiences shape us—sometimes in ways that help us survive, and sometimes in ways that no longer benefits us. Therapy can be our space to explore those experiences, acknowledge where you are now, and begin learning new ways to move forward with clarity and intention.

I'm Asian American, biracial, and third-culture, and utilize a collectivist approach.
I help adults who feel like they have never belonged find the relationships they have been craving. For those who feel like their unique identities make it hard to fit into community: you aren't too special to be alone
And I mean that in a radical, collectivist way. You deserve to feel loved whether you struggle with relationship OCD, cultural or gender dysphoria, LGBTQ+ community drama, non-monogamy isolation, chronic illness, or just straight-up trauma from being told you are too much of a burden to deserve love.
Together, we’ll help you find your voice, build relationships where you feel seen, and ask for what you need.

Hi everyone!
My name is Angela Ding.
I am both a credentialed Christian Counselor and an Associate MFT in CA. I am passionate about extending empathy, unconditional love, acceptance, and a non-judgmental attitude in the "True Love" God unreservedly loves us sinners with. Bearing in mind Psalm 23 as my favorite verses, I am adept at instilling "Living Hope" which could only be found in God who created each one of us with a purpose. God has left a God-shaped vacuum that cannot be filled by any earthly things like money, power, and fame, but Jesus Christ alone.

FAQ - Asian Counseling
What can an Asian therapist help with?
An Asian therapist can help with the same concerns as any other therapist, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and major life transitions. How an Asian therapist can make the experience feel different, however, is the possibility of shared cultural understanding. If you identify with a background such as Chinese, Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino, or Japanese, working with a therapist who shares or understands aspects of your culture may help you feel more comfortable opening up on such topics.
What role can language play in therapy?
Language can play an important role in therapy because people often express emotions, family dynamics, and personal experiences differently depending on the language they are speaking. For some individuals, working with a therapist who speaks their native language, whether it be Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, or another language, may help sessions feel more natural and emotionally connected. Even if you are fluent in English, certain thoughts or feelings may still feel easier to communicate in your native language.
How can an Asian therapist support couples counseling or family therapy?
Cultural background can play an important role in couples counseling and family therapy, particularly when family expectations, communication styles, generational differences, or cultural traditions are influencing the relationship. An Asian therapist may help partners and family members navigate these topics with more cultural understanding and less need to explain the context behind them. For multicultural or multilingual families, a Asian therapist who is bilingual may also help ensure that each person feels heard and understood during sessions.
How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience with Asian clients?
If cultural background is important to you in therapy, it can be helpful to ask prospective therapists whether they have experience working with clients who share your cultural background or speak your preferred language. In initial conversations with potential therapists, you might also ask whether they have worked with clients experiencing concerns related to identity, intergenerational conflict, family expectations, or cultural stigma around mental health.
Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Asian therapists?
The directory of Asian therapists includes professionals who have shared their ethnicity in their profiles. Psychology Today uses this information to assist clients in finding a therapist who can provide a cultural match. However, not all therapists choose to disclose their ethnicity in their profiles, and they may not appear in search results for this reason; also, when the number of therapists identified as Asian is limited, the directory will also show therapists with comprehensive experience working with clients from relevant backgrounds.
