MCS is a therapeutic community where people come to learn, develop, and then practice skills to help them become more effective in their lives. MCS is the brainchild of Lila Galustian, LMFT, and Samantha Wakach, LCSW. Lila and Samantha hatched the idea for MCS in an effort to join their combined decades of clinical expertise, training, education, and practical experience working in treatment centers with patients who suffer from mood disorders, thought disorders, and personality disorders as well as their family members. We often struggled to help patients find appropriate aftercare providers who understand and have training on how to address the complexities of integrating into life after completing treatment. MCS is an ideal outpatient "step down" (ie next stop after one leaves a residential or intensive outpatient center) or a "step up" from once per week outpatient therapy to prevent a need for a higher level of care. MCS is excellent for those who can benefit from more frequent contact with a therapist, have access to family therapy, couples therapy, as well as being part of a therapeutic cohort (via group sessions with peers working on similar issues and challenges).
