"The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do." -Kobe Bryant. Have there been times when you find yourself returning to cycles of overwhelm, burnout, nervousness or notice that you begin to fear making mistakes especially in moments that matter most? “The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door.” – Clarissa Pinkola Estés. Healing often begins with what feels broken—grief, confusion, or a part of ourselves we’ve learned to silence. Whether it’s the imprint of trauma, a painful relational pattern, or a transformative experience that shifted your inner world, the work isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about remembering, reconnecting, and reclaiming the Self that’s been there all along.

I provide neuropsychological evaluations (testing) to adults with cognitive concerns, such as difficulty with memory, attention, multitasking, "slowing down," or changes in language or personality. I investigate neurological and/or psychiatric factors that may contribute to someone's condition. These evaluations allow for more precise diagnoses and prognoses (what to expect in the future). I provide services in English or Persian (Farsi), and I am well-experienced in working with professional translators for assessment in other languages (for example, Spanish or Cantonese).

We don’t have to start with feelings. In fact, you can process trauma without even sharing the details. Sometimes just labeling what's been keeping your body stuck in survival mode can be frustrating. Maybe your struggles don’t meet diagnostic criteria, or maybe you’ve just hit a breaking point with stress. Therapy should feel supportive, not like you’re being sent to the principal’s office. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that becomes part of your broader support system, one where you can explore difficult topics without the bias or baggage that sometimes comes from friends, family, or partners.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Therapists
When should someone seek treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
People should seek a diagnosis and treatment after a head injury, especially if they were unconscious, and an early diagnosis can lead to a better recovery. Signs of a concussion include headaches, nausea or vomiting, exhaustion, dizziness, vision problems, sensitivity to light and sound, problems with attention and memory, brain fog, unusual irritability or sadness, and unusual sleep patterns.

What’s the most common treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
Treatment for a traumatic brain injury will be different depending on the severity of the problem. For mild injuries, treatment may involve rest and over-the-counter pain or headache medication. For moderate or severe injuries, treatment may involve stabilization, medication, and rehabilitative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, and counseling.

How long does it take to recover from traumatic brain injury?
The recovery time for a traumatic brain injury depends on the individual and the severity and nature of the injury; the length of time spent unconscious is often an indicator of severity. Recovery time for mild injuries may be a week or two while recovery time for more severe injuries may be six months to two years. Research suggests that the vast majority of recovery occurs in the first two years after an injury; recovery after that time frame is less certain.

What if a traumatic brain injury is left untreated?
If a traumatic brain injury is left untreated, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health problems. Physical problems may include dizziness, headaches, vision, healing, or speech loss, and an elevated risk of dementia. Psychological problems may include impairments of memory, judgment, and decision-making, depression, aggression, poor impulse control, and personality changes.
