Are you feeling stuck or desperate? Do you feel like there is something blocking you from moving forward in life? My hope is that clients leave therapy knowing their strengths and having the tools to tackle future challenges. Whether that is to empower them to find new solutions to old problems, a better way of managing their anxiety or depression; or a whole new way of being in relationships. We all need to feel empowered in our own lives but often find road blocks that keep us from reaching our potential.

My mission is to help empower people to grow, to change and to live a more peaceful and authentic life. The changing process can be quite intimidating and we can become "comfortably" numb in a hectic, drama filled life. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Each one of us has our own unique story and circumstance. My approach to therapy is tailored to your unique needs. I meet you where you are. My work is geared around collaboration. Together, we look at what is showing up and take it on in a clear and honest way.

As a long-time surfer, climber, and explorer at heart, I see my role as a guide who helps you move through your fears and toward your longings. Like with any good guide, we'll map the territory, build trust in your Self, learn skills to navigate difficult spots, and discover clarity on top of the peak. I believe when our curiosity outweighs our fears, we can take the leap into a more authentic life. I work with adults with anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, grief, men’s issues, and life transitions. I am also trained in psychedelic integration for those seeking support for their journeys.

You’re emotionally intelligent and deeply reflective, yet something inside still feels just out of reach. Despite your awareness, relationships can leave you feeling unseen or disconnected. You sense that the missing piece isn’t more outward effort, but a deeper connection, both to yourself and others. You want to experience relationships as sacred ground for growth, where honesty, awareness, and your connection to your Self become the teachers. You're ready to explore how the things you've been through are keeping you from getting what you're longing for. Together, we’ll explore how your inner world shapes your outer experiences.

You may look like you have it together, yet feel disconnected from yourself underneath it all. Maybe you’re unhappy in your relationship, questioning whether you’re living the life you truly want, have found yourself drawn into an affair, or standing at a crossroads. Maybe anxiety, trauma, addiction, or a difficult chapter has pulled you further away from yourself. You may feel like you've lost touch with the person you used to be—or the person you know you're capable of becoming. I work with women who are ready to listen to that feeling, reconnect with their desires and inner knowing, and rediscover what makes them feel alive.

Have you found it challenging or nearly impossible to exist in this world? I will help you develop a bridge back into the world and into yourself. My work is constructed differently for each person who walks in: identifying wounds, mending them, and developing novel ways of interacting with the world that provide more energy, meaning, and purpose. I tend to work best with people who have felt let down by therapeutic institutions, as my approach runs counter to most mainstream modalities. Familiar with the pains of exile, I can help you climb back into the world and into yourself.

I work with women who have recently experienced a traumatic event and help them return to a sense of normal. I also work with women who have experienced traumas in the distant past but who have been feeling chronically anxious, depressed, out of control and/or hopeless. Perhaps you cannot remember the last time you did not feel anxious or depressed. Or perhaps your body being in stress for so many years has created health issues. Or perhaps you have turned to compulsive behaviors to escape or numb the pain such as over drinking, over eating, perfectionism, codependency, dieting, binge watching TV and more.

Do you find that managing your inner world takes a lot of energy and effort? This is something I often hear from clients. You may be thoughtful and introspective, yet still struggle with anxiety, body image, or feeling safe within yourself and secure in relationships. I often hear, “I know how I want to feel and show up, but I don’t know why it’s so hard,” or notice that even with insight, the same patterns repeat. Together we work toward lasting shifts: steadiness inside, deeper self-trust, greater ease in challenges, and relationships that feel supportive and nourishing.

You're a woman at a turning point. Maybe it's your body, your relationship, your career, or simply the quiet feeling that the life you built no longer fits. And maybe you've always carried an extra layer -navigating different cultures, languages, or identities that don't fit neatly into one box. I'm Dr. Gabriela Hirsch, a bilingual (English-Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist in San Diego. I specialize working with women across generations -young adults, midlife, and beyond - especially multicultural and Latina women who are done shrinking themselves to fit. You don't have to translate yourself here — in any sense of the word.

Transpersonal Therapists
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
