You may be successful, accomplished, and deeply capable—the person others rely on, admire, or believe has it all together—while privately feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, unseen, or unsure why something still feels missing. I specialize in working with high-achieving professionals, women in demanding roles, and individuals navigating the quiet emotional weight that often lies behind outward success. Therapy can provide a space where you no longer need to perform strength, carry everything alone, or minimize your pain simply because you are functioning well. I

I provide a safe space with an experienced and supportive approach that allows you to explore your potential for positive change. If you're committed to taking the next steps, together we can find ways you can create the healthy meaningful life you desire, while identifying and avoiding the toxic connections or choices that have held you back in the past.

As a therapist, I understand that working through emotions as an individual or in a relationship can be difficult. Whether I am working with an individual, couple, or family my job is to guide and support my clients and allow them to discover, excavate & process their feelings while dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, or adjusting to life's various issues. Self awareness is an incredible skill that I enjoy helping clients develop as they engage in the most important relationship - the one they have with themselves.

My clients are often the ones others rely on. The dependable one. The one who keeps everything moving while quietly carrying anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion beneath the surface. From the outside, they’re high-functioning. Capable and put together. Internally, there’s a constant tension, especially when they begin to outgrow roles, relationships, or expectations that no longer align. They may be navigating change, grief, relationship uncertainty, or burnout in a career that once felt meaningful. They struggle to say no. They feel guilt when choosing themselves. And often, they’re the one going against the grain.

My ideal clients are individuals, young adults, and parents navigating identity, relationships, and life transitions. Many feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves. Some are adjusting to motherhood, exploring mixed-race or cultural identity, or working through family dynamics and past experiences. They often come to therapy wanting clarity, confidence, and stronger relationships. I help by creating a warm, supportive space where we explore patterns, build emotional insight, and develop practical tools so they can move forward feeling more grounded and connected.

I am also very passionate about working with entrepreneurs and mixed race individuals.
My clients are high-achieving women and entrepreneurs who look like they have it together — and are exhausted by it. They’re successful, capable, and quietly running on empty. They come in carrying anxiety that won’t quit, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and relationship patterns they can’t seem to break. Many have complex or developmental trauma and learned early to stay strong and self-reliant. They don’t just want to talk about it. They want to actually feel different — safer, lighter, more like themselves. Licensed in CA, AZ, CT & UT You might be able to get reimbursed for OON therapy! Check here: mentaya.co/b/aroadthrough

Working with older children, adolescents, adults, and couples, I strive to help you understand how your early caregiving experiences are impacting your current wellbeing and interpersonal functioning. My goal is to create a secure relationship where you can feel understood and valued and better understand yourself through our work together. In working with young children and their caregivers, I hope to help parents understand how their own parenting impacts their identity as a caregiver as well as helping them understand their child’s needs and develop a deeper connection.

Has life begun to feel heavier than it once did? Maybe you've been holding yourself together for everyone else while quietly feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally drained. Perhaps you're grieving someone you love, navigating a relationship that's changed, adjusting to a new season of life, or carrying experiences that still affect you more than you'd like. I believe therapy is about more than talking through problems. It's about having the time and space to pause, untangle what's been weighing on you, and gently make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing, painful, or isolating.

I specialize in working with first-generation, undocumented individuals, and those in interracial relationships who struggle to navigate the unique nuances and microaggressions of bridging cultural differences while honoring the desires of your true self. Relationships can feel overwhelming when the same conflicts keep repeating and emotional distance grows despite your best efforts. Whether you're struggling with trust, intimacy, or communication, you're not alone. Many couples get caught in cycles where attempts to connect somehow push them further apart.

You love your child deeply—and still, it’s hard sometimes. Parenting an autistic teen can bring up a whirlwind of emotions: confusion, isolation, grief, guilt, fear, love, pride, protectiveness… and sometimes even burnout or resentment. I've been there, and sometimes it feels like you’re carrying a lot on your shoulders. You're trying to be a safe, supportive parent in a world that isn’t always kind to neurodivergent people while also managing your own inner world. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, process those complex emotions, and reconnect with yourself and your parenting values; you don't have to do this alone!

FAQ - About Multiracial Counseling
Why might mixed race or multiracial identity be important to address in therapy?
Mixed race or multiracial identity can shape how you understand yourself and relate to others around you, so it is natural that this identity may be important to speak about in therapy. If you identify as mixed race, you may find it helpful to speak with a therapist about identity, belonging, racism, cultural disconnection, or feeling pressure to “choose” one part of your background over another. A therapist who understands or shares your mixed race identity may be better able to support conversations about your experiences. A shared background may also strengthen the therapeutic alliance, which refers to the working relationship between you and your therapist and is tied to positive therapy outcomes.

How can a mixed race therapist support couples counseling or family therapy?
Like other therapists, mixed race therapists can support couples and families with a broad range of concerns, including communication challenges, conflict, parenting, life transitions, and relationship stress. However, therapists who personally identify as mixed race may be especially helpful when race, culture, or ethnicity are part of the concerns being discussed, such as when partners come from different cultural backgrounds and are navigating differing personal or community expectations. A mixed race therapist may also help couples and families explore how identity shapes each person’s experience in the relationship. Family members, for instance, may not experience race or culture in the same way, even within the same household. Therapy can offer a space to talk through these differences.

How might I inquire about a therapist's experience working with mixed race or multiracial clients?
The initial consultation, which is typically a brief phone or video call, can be a good time to ask about a therapist’s experience working with multiracial clients. You can ask specific questions, such as “Do you have experience working with multiracial clients?” or broader questions, such as “How do you approach cultural identity in your practice?” As sessions begin, it can be helpful to notice how the therapist responds to your concerns. A good therapist should respond with respect, curiosity, and cultural humility. If you feel dismissed or misunderstood, or if you find yourself having to explain your beliefs or cultural context constantly, it may be worth considering another therapist.

Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of mixed race therapists?
The directory of mixed race therapists includes therapists who have shared their mixed race or multiracial identity in their profiles, as well as therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with mixed race clients, regardless of their own background. Not all therapists choose to disclose this information on their profile, and these individuals may not appear in search results for this reason.
