The poet, Mary Oliver, asks: "Tell me, what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life ?" I am so honored to walk with my clients in a skill-based approach as we explore these kinds of questions and access that deeper wisdom available to us all. The human psyche is such a magnificent entity--your search for an ultimately satisfying life deserves to be witnessed and supported as you move through it! I believe that as you recognize patterns which may be limiting your life and release them, you will find the source of true empowerment as well as our interconnectedness with it.

Hello, many people think about starting therapy when they are at one of life 's crossroads or when they are in crisis. Whether this is happening in your personal life or in one of your relationships, therapy offers a safe and constructive place to address the concerns and issues you've been struggling with. Feeling stuck is very painful and even small changes can create positive differences in your life and help you start moving in a better, more hopeful direction. My treatment style is eclectic, warm, and verbal. I am supportive and like to focus on practical solutions.

Specialties: cross cultural issues, mid life (and later), women's issues, men seeking to understand women and themselves, sexuality, gay/lesbian, stress, depression, anxiety, assertiveness, co-dependence, work issues and identity/spiritual questing.
I believe it is the "personhood" of the therapist that is most important for a genuine therapeutic relationship. I am compassionate, very intelligent and plain speaking. I have treated adults and couples for 28 years. I have lots of life experience too, which will hopefully help in understanding your issues. I am a wife and mother, have lived in 4 countries and trained therapists for 10 years. I help young and not-so-young people with their relationships with others and themselves, and with those transitions that are part of human existence.

I believe that our birthright is joy. To really experience the truth of these words means that we need to reclaim our own authenticity and vibrancy, in an age when many of us have fallen deeply out of love with ourselves. We are faced with an extraordinary choice; either we suffer or we grow. To face our own challenges requires a radical honesty and the ability to perceive ourselves as catalysts for change. By learning to trust our innate potential, we can access a vitality that is truly life -saving.

The word “heal” comes from “to make whole.” Psychotherapy, more aptly psyche-therapy, is a sacred process of tending to the soul wound and waking more fully to one’s aliveness and inherent wholeness. I am deeply passionate about supporting you in healing the fragmented and disowned parts of self that hinder you from living a life of meaningful connections, purposeful self-agency and joy. We work collaboratively to creatively transform unconscious and limiting belief structures, access your resiliencies, welcome emerging truths, skillfully navigate adversity with new tools, and integrate insights for profound and evolving change.

One of my life experiences that led me into the work I do was being widowed at the age of 41 with 2 young children, preceded by “walking with” my husband through his 2½ years of medical issues which resulted in his death due to leukemia—a diagnosis we had gotten wrong earlier.
My 31 years of experience have entailed providing both psychotherapeutic counseling as well as case management support to disabled & elderly clients, Hospice & dialysis social work. I work with adults of all ages. Each decade has its own challenges. Anxiety, depression, addictions, insecurities, relational issues, health and other issues of all kinds can hamper us at any age. For my clients, I love to use my heart, experience, training & faith practices to create a safe place and provide support to overcome what’s holding them back---to help empower them to reach the fullness, freedom and joy of their own lives and relationships.

Psychotherapy can offer a process to better understand the relationship between our thoughts, feelings (emotions and physiology), and behaviors. I work with people from all walks of life and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, career/identity issues, and adjustment difficulties related to life transitions and illness. Some of my therapeutic goals include helping clients manage symptoms of distress with healthier coping, improving relationships (with self and others), and exploring the ways in which current problems may be linked to unresolved issues from the past.

I'm skilled in helping clients overcome depression, anxiety, grief, loss, relationship/parenting conflict, life transitions, & more.

Across the many walks of life , I am here to offer you a steady hand in moments of insecurity and fear, a kind heart in moments sadness and grief, and a soft place to land when the outside world becomes too much.
The world is a wild and wondrous place to exist. There is so much to be curious about as we follow our respective paths. However, sometimes the path can become obscured causing us to feel lost, confused, even scared or defeated. Amidst the constant buzz of living, we need a place of stillness, of safety, to see ourselves clearly again. I am here to provide you a safe, judgement-free holding space to explore your own path and rediscover yourself in it. In our work together, we will focus on using the strength of human connection as a bridge to our own healing.

I work with people from all walks of life , experiencing a wide variety of mental, emotional and relationship difficulties. I work with children, parents of children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Adult psychotherapy clients who work best with me are usually looking for lasting solutions to emotional problems rather than advice, "tools" or quick fixes and they can tolerate a listening approach designed to deepen discussion. They understand that the unacknowledged thoughts and feelings that create havoc can emerge in therapy, and they are looking for a professional to help them understand and work through difficult moments.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
