I have extensive training in treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and
grief
.
I’m passionate about helping women transform their lives. Supporting them on their path to growth and healing. Being a woman in today’s modern world is hard. There’s pressure to have a healthy relationship, a successful career, to be a good parent, and to be physically and emotionally healthy. High expectations of us take a toll on our minds and our bodies. Many women I work with talk about losing themselves and feeling frustratingly stuck. You want to feel grounded and confident. You need time to look inward and heal. You’re ready to develop a pathway forward, one where you feel hopeful and in control. You're in the right place.

I specialize in trauma resolution, embodiment, honoring and transforming
grief
, and cultivating intimacy & authentic connection.
I want to reflect the wholeness that exists within you at this moment, even with the challenges and stuckness you might be experiencing. I believe healing begins with creating the space for a different kind of relating with yourself and your life that honors your innate wisdom. One that is fed by curiosity, compassion, and loving presence. Through supporting the wisdom of your body-mind-spirit-soul, it is possible to move beyond "managing" painful symptoms and stuck patterns that often emerge from past overwhelming life experiences and trauma into true healing, authentic vitality and engagement with life. Healing is possible.

Finding a safe and collaborative place to explore and address what is troubling you is the first step toward healing. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, depression,
grief
, or challenges within a relationship. While there are no guarantees of what you will experience in therapy, research shows that therapy helps people. It works. Psychotherapy can elevate feelings of self worth, purpose, and improve your overall quality of life.

Being human-it’s not easy. The modern world confronts us with a complicated set of circumstances that we were never meant to navigate alone. We move at a frenetic pace just to “make it” & end up with a
loss
of connection to ourselves, each other, & the natural world so deep that even we don’t realize it until depression, anxiety, physical pain, self-doubt or loneliness nearly defeat our will & close our hearts for good. The traumas we inevitably face along the way, no matter how large or small, seldom receive the kind of emotional attunement, empathy, & presence needed in order to heal. Yet, we all desire to grow into our Soul...

I think therapy is always a good idea. Crisis, however, is often what leads us into therapy, and I believe that it is a call and an opportunity to look deeply, not only into our "problems" but, into ourselves. My approach is non-pathologizing, relational, and grounded in Jungian theory. I work with a variety of concerns with a special interest in spirituality, identity discovery, developmental and transitional adjustments,
grief
,
loss
, depression, chronic and palliative illness. I believe that every person has an innate capacity for healing and I am interested in helping people find theirs.

Throughout our lives, we encounter a variety of natural transitions, some of which challenge our ability to cope.
Death
, divorce, life threatening illness, career change, marriage, becoming a parent, spiritual or existential crisis...to name a few. In an attempt to adjust, many of us experience emotional distress. I would be honored to work with you to provide support. I enjoy working with people of all ages including young children and teens. Through talk therapy, expressive arts, sand tray, and engaged play, my goal is to make each client feel prioritized, heard, cared about, valued, and nurtured throughout their process.

I specialize in several areas of counseling -
grief
from
death
and from living losses, couples therapy, family cut-off, brainspotting, trauma and anxiety.
Whatever your struggle, the first step of reaching out can be daunting. Each of us is unique. Our stories are our own. Our challenges are deep and personal and are like ice burgs, mostly hidden from view. Sometimes we need someone to help navigate these depths, to help process the present, and the past and to renegotiate the future. This is the path to authenticity, contentment and freedom. This is true for us individually and in our relationships.

I'm passionate about providing caring, supportive, and non-judgmental clinical services to teens, adults, couples, and families with challenges related to relational stressors, communication, stress,
grief
, depression, anxiety, anger management, faith, spirituality, and more.
Life and relationships can be difficult to navigate. I have found it is always easier to know someone is rooting for you to win, to know you have a coach in your corner, a confidant at your side. I see my role as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the same way; a source for receiving encouragement, guidance, and growth. We are all in different stages of the growing process and sometimes it becomes difficult to face it alone. Witnessing clients prevail with hope, growth, and healing through talk therapy reinforces my belief in the practice.

I provide
grief
counseling with a focus on living with intention and cultivating a sense of wellness and wholeness.
Grief
is messy. One minute you feel numb; the next minute you are sobbing. Or maybe you feel relieved and then feel guilty for feeling relieved. You expect yourself to be sad but surprise yourself by feeling angry and then scared. It’s a wild ride. It’s unpredictable and unwieldy. It’s as unique as the relationship (or situation) that launched it. Most of us don’t “get over” our losses, but we can integrate them into our lives in a meaningful way that allows us to move forward with a sense of peace.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
