I work from the view that you are the expert in your life, and I’m here to support and guide you. I can help you work on changing negative thinking that is keeping you stuck and build on the strengths you already have. Not accepting new patients. Do you feel hurt or frustrated that you have tried repeatedly to communicate a need or desire in your
relationship
only to be left feeling misunderstood, unheard, disappointed and in conflict? Do you feel discouraged that nothing will ever change? I can help you feel encouraged in your relationships and together we can create change. When issues go continually unresolved, we may begin to experience feelings of anger and frustration which may lead to feelings of hopelessness, sadness, and anxiety. We may try to mask our pain through substance abuse, extra-marital affairs and other destructive behaviors.

With a background working with all ages and dynamics through issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, childhood issues, relational issues, divorce, remarriage, blended families, faith-based issues, addictions/escaping behaviors, and codependence, I work from a psychodynamic, intersubjective lens believing healing happens in the context of
relationship
.
No matter what you are facing, you are worthy and there is hope. You are here because you believe change is possible, or may even know change is necessary, for your life to be more whole and authentic. But change can seem daunting, even scary. Whether you're experiencing emotions like anxiety or depression, relational chaos, or traumatic circumstances that seem to overwhelm your thoughts and life, therapy is a safe space to process these issues. I approach our time together with compassion and care, with the goal of seeing life through your eyes, so that the change is solely yours. You are not alone and all things are possible.

I feel honored to have walked alongside so many individuals and
couples
who have found a better understanding and healing from past hurt and trauma.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, and burnt out? Maybe there is a constant feeling of being on edge, and irritated. Sometimes we don't even know why we feel this way, and these feelings can lead to unhelpful patterns and cycles that cause us to feel stuck and hopeless. To break out of the pattern, you need to first address the feelings. The good news is you don't need to do that alone. Through therapy, we can work together to develop new patterns, a sense of self, and a path for growth.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
