I am dedicated to guiding my patients towards rapid symptom relief and long-lasting change using Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and DBT.
Do you find your current relationship(s) disappointing, have trouble keeping relationships or finding one at all? Our patients have concerns about how trauma impacts their daily life. They often report that food feels overwhelming and confusing. We will track and understand the unsettling and yet important feelings you have about yourself, your past, your food intake and your relationships with others. Common topics addressed in session include anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulty, feeling out of control with food, concerns about sex and more.

Much like the core of hip-hop music, therapy is rooted in self-discovery. Healing comes from looking inward and reflecting on how our past experiences, both hardships and victories, shaped who we are. Using hip hop as inspiration for my clinical work, my goal is to support you on your journey into a more integrated self. This collaborative approach can include an exploration of the self, the people in your lives, and the world around you. My hope is we can create a space where we keep it real so you can “bloom and glow.” I have an integrative approach with a range of modalities including psychodynamic , CBT and nature psychology.

If you or someone you care about are going through a difficult time and need help, guidance, and support, or feeling anxious, stuck, depressed, confused or lost, then give me a call. It is not always easy to ask for help and for what you need, particularly when you don't know the therapist and at times don't know what you need or can't put it into words. It takes courage and strength to make this first step and reach out to ask for help. I am a licensed, seasoned, compassionate psychotherapist, and I would be honored to work with you, so you don't have to do it all alone.

Do you feel a lack of meaning in your life? Do you often feel fragmented, lonely, or disconnected? We get stuck sometimes and it can make us feel hopeless. Therapy is a process in which we can begin to feel relief from the hopelessness and despair and move towards wholeness, meaningfulness, and connection. Many of my patients find that they are able to experience a greater understanding of themselves and make sense of their experiences in the world, leading to an increased sense of peace, acceptance, reduction in symptoms, and increased level of functioning - long lasting change that can help you feel more whole and fully alive.

Life happens. Everything is running smoothly in our lives and then something occurs that throws us off balance: a relationship breakup, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, divorce, or a trauma. Instead of a single event, it can also be the buildup of stress or the accumulation of various events that have occurred. Sometimes we just want to learn more about ourselves. It can even be a wound from our past from which we have difficulty healing. All of us experience obstacles in our lives that can become overwhelming.

Knowing you can use some help and seeking out that help are signs of strength and courage. Therapy is not just helpful for getting to the bottom of an issue, but is often a much healthier alternative to treating symptoms alone. In therapy,we will work together to determine what treatment is best for you.

My ideal client is self-reflective & insightful, committed to the work of therapy. Though many of us were wounded in childhood, few of us have had the opportunity to work through the challenges life presents. Our time together will bring relief from worries, fears, work stress, low self-esteem & self-blame which greatly constrict our lives. Those I work with will want a compassionate guide for the purpose of more fully enjoying life & relationships. I work with separating & divorcing families, parents & children, where circumstances are particularly challenging, who want better things for themselves and their children.

I arrive at the intersection of compassion & collaboration as I respectfully guide my clients to explore new levels of awareness, self-empowerment, flow, & understanding. Working towards cognitive flexibility, wholeness, and healing. Using empathy & unconditional positive regard as a foundation, I may occasionally challenge you to bring forward awareness with a more direct approach. I welcome the motivation or perhaps ambivalence that comes along with seeking treatment. There is no perfection in the layers that define us, just a journey of experiences & lessons that await discovery, growth and honor.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis. Like adherents of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapists believe that bringing the unconscious into conscious awareness promotes insight and resolves conflict. But psychodynamic therapy is briefer and less intensive than psychoanalysis and also focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client, as a way to learn about how the client relates to everyone in their life.
