A majority of my experience has been working with children and teens, as well as young adults that need support in improving
self esteem
, making meaning in ones life, and learning how to improve and engage in authentic relationships.
I meet my clients where they are at, and begin by building on the relationship where we can focus on the parts that seem to be holding one back from living their most authentic life. Every one has their own unique journey, and I believe that in a strong therapeutic relationship, healing, growth, and transformation is possible. Therapy allows for one to gain insight and awareness around one's patterns of behavior. Let us meet together to see if we are a good fit.

Maybe you are needing support during this unknown and, for many people, scary time. Or, maybe you are needing a bigger change. Congratulations on taking your first step! It can be hard to select "the right therapist" from these giant lists. Sometimes it can be about chemistry and fit, and you just have to try with someone. I believe that you can find clarity and relief, and my own journey has taught me that healing and/or [some] relief is possible. I work with adults who are dealing with a variety of things such as depression or anxiety, relationship issues, low
self esteem
or shame, and/or feelings of "stuckness" or being lost.

You feel stuck, like something is wrong and you are not enough. You’re struggling, and you want things to be better, but you don’t know how to get there. You think to yourself you should be able to handle this, and you shouldn’t be feeling this way. You don’t know how to put it into words, or you don’t feel like there’s anyone you can talk to about it with. You want to feel understood, and be listened to without worry of being judged.

You want to appear successful & like you have it “all together” but deep down are stressed & struggling with self-esteem, anxiety or coping with what's happened in the past, including difficult life transitions and trauma. You may be fed up with making mistakes and feeling like a failure, leading to being isolated and disappointed. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way.But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to manage stress effectively. You’re ready to overcome your overwhelming thoughts. Most of all, you’re ready to feel empowered and confident to take on life’s high and lows.

Psychotherapy provides the oppertunity for self discovery and understanding. A safe environment to explore our thougths and feelings and make sense of our emotions. Resulting in increased self understanding and compassion. This experience is the basis for developing positive relationships in other areas of your life. I work with people of all ages on issues including anxiety, depression,
self esteem
, grief and loss, addiction, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, parenting, life purpose and vitality.
There are times in our lives when we are presented with challenging circumstances. These experiences can be enormously difficult yet they also provide an opportunity for tremendous growth. The guidance and support of a trusted professional can be vital in regaining a sense of balance and ability to move forward in a positive way. What I have come to understand from my own life and education is that our suffering is often caused by losing connection to ourselves and others. With care and curiosity we can rebuild this sense of connection and foster the change necessary to create a healthy and meaningful life.

We are born with seeds of promise and life potential. However, life also comes with experiences and emotional trauma that can damage, block or inhibit that potential. The results of which can take forms such as depression, anxiety, low
self esteem
, vulnerability to abuse and relationship issues etc.. These struggles can be debilitating, soul destroying and often isolating. I am British born and have been in private practice as an analytically trained Jungian Psychotherapist for over thirty years. The Jungian depth perspective seeks to get to the root cause of your suffering and help create a connection to inner resources.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
