You’re looking for an approachable therapist who can help you build a better life for yourself. Someone who you can feel deeply seen by, who will celebrate your wins, walk beside you in your pain, and can help you find relief. Whether you have been struggling with low self esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or finding your path in life, I can help. Maybe you are pregnant or a new mom and are struggling with that transition or a difficult birth experience. Life can be painful and sometimes things happen to us that make it hard to find our center, to let our guard down, or to know that we are good enough.

This work is through a trauma-informed lens as there are varying levels of trauma (from assault to a difficult relationship or tough event) that can impact us or play out in our lives that create imbalances within.
The gift of therapy is priceless and highly transformative. I am walking proof of the impact and have lived through tremendous challenges related to grief & loss, high conflict relationships, health related battles, career challenges and changes, intergenerational trauma, raising young adults and lived experiences in different parts of the country. My therapeutic journey was led by a skilled therapist and through that learning an inherent calling to help others arose. Today, I work with clients in California and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR,) Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR,) and Reiki.

Have you been in therapy before and weren’t able to get the level of healing you hoped for? I can help you find deeper relief from anxiety, your critical inner voice, painful past experiences, and trauma, through my advanced training in EMDR, combined with talk therapy.
You are insightful and self aware, you know all of the “right” things to do and think, and yet you still struggle to truly feel good enough. Have you spent your life trying to achieve and move up the ladder and still feel anxious, panicky, or like something is missing? You might be a people pleaser and struggle to say no or to set healthy boundaries. Maybe you have a hard time showing all of yourself to loved ones and instead present only the parts of yourself that seem likable - leaving you feeling unknown and alone. You may give and give to others and yet neglect to care for yourself or to ask for your own needs to be met.

Working from a psychodynamic therapeutic orientation, I focus on early attachments, trauma, and experiences in hopes to uncover learned patterns of being that no longer serve you.
My ideal client is someone who acknowledges their approach towards challenges is no longer working for them, and wants to change. This could be a couple, struggling with communication and wondering why the same fight happens over and over. This could also be an individual who can't seem to get out of their own way and struggling to understand themself. This may also be a parent having issues with overwhelm and frustration. People behave in ways that keep them disconnected from themselves and others, and I am here to assist you in clearing the debris of your past, so you can face the present and future fearlessly.

One area of specialty is trauma.
My approach to psychotherapy/psychoanalysis is to provide a safe, non-judge mental and trusting environment where you can freely express your feelings. I believe each of us is striving to develop our own unique sense of self. We can do this together by identifying beliefs and behaviors that do not serve you and cultivating ones that do. This becomes a partnership. I am committed to helping you out of the darkness and into the light again. My training offers a wide variety of ways to achieve this task. Together we will follow closely your needs, desires and emotions.

As you develop your curiosity and explore your larger Self, you begin to gain insights into past burdens and trauma that have contributed to your pain and unresolved issues in your life.
I am an Internal Family Systems Institute (IFS) trained therapist. My therapeutic approach is based on the core principles of the therapies that make up my eclectic background. The core principles are (1) the assertion that each person possesses a healthy inner core, a deeper connection to the Self, and (2) that sharing one's inner qualities with others allows one to discover the benefits of this connection to the Self. And (3) that while fulfillment and happiness are not guaranteed in life, meaning and a sense of purpose are available regardless of circumstances.

I am fully trained in EMDR and use it to address the lingering impact of trauma.
Your relationship is really important, but, because of communication breakdowns and tension you have started to question whether staying is right. You want to get clarity on what is going on so that you find a way back to feeling trust, safety, empathy, and passion. You have the sense that you could work through it together if only there was the chance of really being heard and understood by your partner. Through therapy you gain clarity and insight on your own (and your partners) needs, boundaries, and values. Therapy is effective for couples, families, business partners, and teams.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
