Many of my clients are high-achieving women who struggle with anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, and people-pleasing.
Do you often find yourself feeling capable and driven, yet worn out by the constant pressure and need to maintain control? From the outside, your life looks impressive; you’re capable and people depend on you. But internally your mind rarely slows down. You replay conversations on the drive home, and feel a constant pressure to get things exactly right. Thoughts loop around “what ifs" or worst-case scenarios. You’ve learned to function at a high level, but it often comes with tension, overthinking, and the quiet feeling that your mind never truly gets to rest.

They want more—calm instead of worry, clarity instead of spinning thoughts, and connection instead of distance. They’re ready to break old patterns, build healthier communication, and create lasting change.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder ( OCD), phobias and stuck anxiety can boycott the development and happiness of your bright, spirited and sensitive child.
As a trained family therapist, I'm always aware behind that one person in the room stand the many more who love him/her. Parents/caregivers play a key part in the success of child therapy and sustaining progress. In fact, the family may very well be the best tool in the toolbox. I won’t shy away from having parents, siblings or the whole tribe in the room.

While I have extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other disorders, for the past 15 years I have focused on the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and over the past 2 years I have immersed myself in a relatively new approach to OCD called I-CBT (Inference Based CBT).
My specialties include OCD, anxiety disorders, depression and ADHD. I typically see clients weekly, and also offer intensive treatment of 2-3 hours per day, 2-3 times per week. I am available for in-home treatment, and to go driving with clients who fear that they will harm others while driving (known as "hit and run OCD.")

Most people suffer from unconscious guilt and shame stemming from their childhood traumas. Guilt causes us to unconsciously do self-destructive things. Shame causes us to isolate ourselves and hide our true selves. Both guilt and shame make people feel undeserving and isolated. My approach to therapy is to help patients find relief from their irrational guilt and feelings of shame and to develop a realistic sense of pride in who they are.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
