Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists in San Marcos, CA
You’re self-aware. You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, maybe even been to therapy before. You know your patterns, you’ve done the work -but something still feels stuck. Despite your insight, you keep finding yourself in the same emotional loops, the same relational pain, or the same overwhelming body sensations that you can’t quite shake. It’s exhausting to feel like you should be doing better-but your nervous system, your emotions, or that deep ache inside haven’t caught up with your mind.

"It's not forgetting that heals. It's remembering." - Amy Greene. My area of focus is working with women and men who want to heal their mind and bodies from negative or traumatic experiences. Forgetting is not always an option because our bodies do remember. Common symptoms and complaints that can be related to traumatic events may be anxiety or depression, irritability and anger, frequent headaches, stomach-aches and fatigue. It can be difficult and overwhelming to reach out for support, but "forgetting" may no longer feel like an option for you.

" My approach combines IFS, ACT, somatic work, and a bit of DBT-inspired tools, all guided by the therapeutic relationship.
Lately, you’ve been reacting in ways that don’t feel like you. You're snapping faster, overthinking everything, struggling to relax even when you get a moment. You keep telling yourself you should be able to handle this, but something feels off. Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or deep in motherhood, things feel louder, harder, and more constant than they used to. You’re still showing up, but quietly wondering, "what is happening to me?" It's exhausting trying to keep up appearances when you feel this way inside. I help moms in this exact place slow things down, make sense of what’s underneath, and start feeling steady again.

Experiencing these stressors can be overwhelming at times, especially if trying to manage them alone. If you find yourself at this particular place in your life, I would welcome the opportunity to walk alongside you while we work together to find healing.

We’ll use a blend of practical tools (CBT & DBT) to manage intrusive thoughts in the moment, while also exploring the deeper 'parts' of you ( IFS) to understand why these patterns started.
It can be exhausting to carry intrusive thoughts and feelings of anxiety or depression on your own. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can finally feel heard and validated. As a strength-based therapist, I don’t just focus on the struggle—I work alongside you to identify your existing resilience and create goals that move you forward. Together, we’ll integrate self-care and coping strategies into your daily routine so you can reclaim your peace of mind, free from guilt and stress.

I work with children, teens, and adults who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, self-doubt, relationship stress, or past experiences that continue to impact their present. I bring that depth — alongside relational, IFS parts work, trauma-informed, and mindfulness approaches — to every session.
You've been carrying something heavy — maybe for years. Whether it's anxiety that hums beneath every interaction, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, or a past experience that still shapes the way you show up in the world, you're here because something needs to change. A lot of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside and quietly exhausted on the inside. Men navigating what it means to actually open up. Clients in relationships that are trying to understand themselves and their partners better. People who've tried to outthink their trauma — and found it doesn't work that way.

Our mission is to provide quality online mental health and substance abuse services while breaking down the barriers of traditional, office based therapy. This can be via traditional talk therapy, medication management, mindfulness techniques, an emphasis on health, wellness and fitness or any combination of the above.

Through thoughtful questions and body-based interventions (like EMDR & IFS), I help women find freedom from spirally negative self-talk and self-doubt so that they can navigate relationships and work with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
You are tired of beating yourself up and questioning your worth. You spread yourself thin caring and doing for others, and still feel as though you are unworthy of their love. It's hard for you to stand by your own needs and boundaries. You feel guilty for asking for too much and ashamed of not being enough. You spend a lot of time worrying about what people think of you, cringing at every interaction you have, and ruminating over every mistake. Your body feels tense and on edge. Your heartbeat is fast and your breathing is shallow. You can hear all the nasty ways in which you are talking to yourself, but you can’t make it stop.

Using a culturally and trauma-informed approach, I blend modalities like IFS, EMDR, and Somatic interventions for trauma.
Being human is both beautiful and hard. If you're feeling stuck, maybe caught in self-doubt, old survival patterns, or the pain of narcissistic abuse, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer a space where your emotions are welcome, your story is honored, and your nervous system can begin to exhale. Healing isn't about fixing what’s broken. It’s about reconnecting and evolving with the parts of you that were never truly lost. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s intuitive, collaborative, and rooted in deep respect for your inner wisdom.

Using CBT, DBT, IFS, narrative, and solution-focused therapy, I help you build practical coping skills, deepen self-understanding, while practicing mindfulness and creating meaningful, lasting change at your own pace.
I am here for someone who appears “high-functioning” on the outside but feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted on the inside. They might be navigating recovery, grief, parenting stress, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, and often feel pressure to keep it together for others. Many have spent years taking care of everyone else while quietly putting their own needs last. They may struggle with big emotions like; anxiety, shame, sadness, anger or feel stuck in patterns they understand intellectually but can’t seem to change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
