You may be an artist. You may be an academic. You may be an activist. I have been all three of these, and I speak their languages: of creativity, intellectual enlivenment, and social justice. And right now, in this time of upheaval and unrest, you may be hurting--feeling lost, adrift, burned out, under- or over-stimulated, or simply sad. I am here to connect with you. To listen compassionately. To make space for you to better hear yourself, and to encourage linkages, mentalizations, and trauma metabolizations that will allow you to better listen to the rhythms of your body and use your own mind. I offer you my mind in this pursuit.

When it comes to your relationships, you often find yourself doing verbal somersaults around difficult conversations, exhausting yourself to keep the peace. In those moments, a part of you is working incredibly hard to prevent things from falling apart, relying on an old rule that connection is maintained by leaving yourself out. But later on, another part rushes in feeling angry and resentful that you didn't say what you actually felt. Whether you are trapped in this loop or navigating a breakup it caused, you're left feeling further from yourself than ever.

Many men have learned to carry stress silently, stay strong no matter what, and push through without ever having a real space to process what they’re feeling. Over time, that pressure can show up as anxiety, relationship conflict, irritability, disconnection, or feeling stuck without knowing why. Therapy can be a place where you no longer have to figure it all out alone.

Perhaps you, like so many today, are experiencing increased anxiety and/or depression, or are experiencing strained relationships. Or perhaps old dysfunctional coping habits have worsened and made you feel stuck. Whatever you are dealing with, I will assist you through a process that will lead to more emotional control, more connectedness and more self compassion. I do follow the tenet that "life must be understood backwards, but lived forwards" (Soren Kierkegaard). We will work with current issues with the focus on improved well being, but will examine past patterns to help guide our work forward to growth and change.

The clients I work with are typically capable, driven professionals (often working in tech), who feels stuck in patterns they can intellectually understand but haven’t been able to change. They may struggle with overthinking, anxiety, procrastination, workaholism, or relationship strain, and feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t translated into action. What they want is clarity, momentum, and relief—not by avoiding discomfort, but by building skills and changing how they think, respond, and operate day to day. Their goal is to feel more relaxed and confident, build healthy relationships, and to create a more fulfilling life.

Hi! Im Meaghan, I’m a somatic and attachment-focused therapist with 14+ years of experience helping individuals, teens, and families heal from anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, and more. I work holistically — not just with your thoughts and feelings, but with your body and nervous system — the place where trauma and past experiences is stored. If you feel stuck, maybe you seem fine from the outside, but you're still repeating the same patterns, somatic therapy might be the missing piece. Let’s connect and see if it’s a good fit!

Others come during a period of reflection, wanting to take stock of where they are in life and decide what comes next. Whether you are seeking individual therapy or couples therapy, this can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, and begin moving forward.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
