It takes courage and strength to embrace healing, to create change, to experience deeper intimacy and to grow personally and spiritually. I believe that people are uniquely equipped in what they need to create both the life and relationships they want. In collaboration with you, we will work together to resolve any roadblocks and develop the tools to create both the life and relationships you desire. A quality that defines my practice is the ability to help people feel accepted and able to open up to share and explore what is on their heart and mind.

My ideal client in on their path of self discovery and utilize my perspective along the way. I am best suited to treat clients that are motivated to change their current circumstance and can appreciate a strength based approach to finding solutions. Life is complex and, at times, overwhelming. Many times, people need clinical support to get through a difficult situation. Depression, anxiety, stress and substance abuse as it relates to professional and personal functioning are all areas that are supported in my practice. Connecting with my clients and their values is a position I hold dearly in my work.

For those who prefer to include Christian values into therapy, I offer this specialized support.
It’s easy to feel like you're stuck in a loop—especially when the weight of the past keeps holding you back. Maybe it’s childhood trauma or family issues that keep resurfacing, leaving you feeling lost or disconnected. You try to push through, but it feels like you’re running in place. You are not alone in this. Many women experience this sense of being “stuck,” whether it’s in their relationships, career, or just trying to find peace within themselves. The emotional toll of past experiences, unresolved conflicts, or the challenge of regulating overwhelming feelings can make it difficult to move forward. But you CAN move forward.

As a Christian, faith is a central part of my life and impacts my therapeutic style.
I’m Dahlia Case, a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals across diverse backgrounds and challenges. I take an eclectic, client-centered approach. I’m passionate about helping you not just believe change is possible, but to support you in making it happen. My sessions are interactive, and I focus on the connection between your thoughts and behaviors. Described as empathically direct, I prioritize understanding the “why” behind your behaviors, not just coping with them. I use humor, honesty, and authenticity to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring deeper patterns.

There are times in our life when difficulties lead to thoughts and feelings within us that we are uncomfortable with. Ignoring those feelings doesn’t make them go away and often leave us frustrated and feeling stuck. Seeking counseling is a helpful way to find relief and healing when struggling with mental and emotional suffering, relationship conflicts, daily stress, and unhealthy behavior patterns. My background includes supporting clients in schools, homes, clinics, and correctional facilities. My practice also includes providing therapy to students, law enforcement, teachers, first responders, and medical personnel.

My job is to work myself out of a job. I work with youth, adults, and families through decision making and strengthening life skills, by emphasizing relationships and making laughter a priority. I hold a relational lens in my practice, focused on not only your relationship with others, but also on your relationship with yourself. The key to therapeutic services, and relationships in general, is to make sure that there is a level of trust and comfort for the client to build rapport and explore experiences without feeling shame or judgement.

I have worked with children, adults, and older adults, of many cultures, identifications, and statuses, helping them to find self-understanding, acceptance, insight, and fulfillment. Maybe it's people coming to grips with a change, such as divorce or job change, identity, including sexual preference and gender identity, or struggle like social anxiety, hopelessness, or anger. I know that you come to a therapist when you've had enough of whatever is going on. Maybe you see the way forward, but not the steps along the path. I believe you have the power inside you, and everyone needs support, and we work better together.

It is my priority to create a safe and trusting environment where the client is comfortable to share these challenges openly. We will collaborate together to identify the challenges that are hindering growth and progress and to overcome them through the use of encouragement and learned therapeutic tools and techniques.

I know finding a Christian therapist can be tricky and I'm happy to integrate faith into our sessions together.
Therapy feels intimidating. But so does white-knuckling through another week. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or tired of carrying everything on your own, maybe it's time for a change. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, and seasons of crisis. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unsure where to start, but open to growth and ready for something to change.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
