My approach is centered around the belief that each individual is unique and therefore has a unique set of underlying needs and values that deserve to be nurtured. In a society that drives in the fast lane, I believe that it is fundamental to get in touch with that which brings meaning, fulfillment and balance to your life. I support my clients to externalize their struggle so that problem areas can be explored objectively rather than attributed to dysfunction. You are not your anxiety or depression ; it’s time that you understand these symptoms and begin to empower yourself with the strengths you already possess.

**ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** Like many moms, you wear numerous hats in your life, and trying to manage them all successfully can be emotionally exhausting. Too often, you tell yourself that you ARE FAILING; failing at being a mom, failing at being a partner, failing at being a friend, failing at being an employee or student, etc etc...leaving you feeling helpless, hopeless, anxious, and depressed . One voice tells you that you CAN do this while the louder voice tells you that you CAN'T, so you isolate in the silence of shame and put on a brave face hoping to make it through the day. You want to feel better, but you're unsure how.

I am particularly passionate about working with women who deal with issues such as depression , anxiety, eating disorders, adoption and foster parenting, infertility, pregnancy loss, infidelity, sexual identity, spiritual integration, trauma, sexual abuse, and grief.
Life brings painful experiences that can pull us away from becoming who we were intended to be. Whatever the source of your pain, there is grace, comfort, and healing for you. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to heal, and in the courage of my clients as they pursue wholeness. I am passionate about creating a safe space for my clients to explore the problems that keep them from being intimately connected with themselves and the people they love. I use a whole person approach; trying to be attentive to the synergy of body, mind, and spirit in the client's experience.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
