Trauma , anxiety, and addiction can make you feel stuck. The most important step towards healing is to address the unresolved emotion inside you. Healing requires feelings. Acceptance slowly dissolves pain. When we function from the fear and scarring of our trauma , the cycles continue until we learn how to transmute that energy into love. I apply a Holistic approach that integrates physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual forms of well-being, addressing the “whole” self. Through a holistic framework tailored to your unique needs, the goal is to support you develop a deeper understanding of the self on all these levels.

I also have experience in helping clients navigate the challenges of familial estrangement, and take great care to help support survivors of abuse in managing the complex dynamics of interpersonal trauma .
Thank you for stopping by my page. Together, we'll work towards building an authentic relationship where I will do my best to support you in addressing your needs, wants, and barriers to living the life you want. Therapy can be a challenging space to step in to, and a deeply fulfilling one that can provide us with the ability to slow down and catch up with ourselves. By allowing ourselves the space to reflect on lived experiences, we begin a journey to better understanding ourselves, our histories, and how those affect the way we show up for ourselves and others.

Focused on treating anxiety and providing trauma informed care are another specialty area.
As a therapist, I look for the basic goodness of human beings and try to bring clients having locus of control in their lives and share perspectives leading clients to feel liberated so they find the meaning of life; fulfillment and happiness. This takes practice, as our minds naturally scan for the negative, but if we try, we can almost always find something good about you and others which will lead us to heal and peace and may bring harmony and joy to our life. Personally, I enjoy reading books regarding history and philosophy. I have a strong passion for helping children and adults, including parenting issues.

My specialties are Eating Disorders and Trauma recovery.
It takes courage to reach out for support. Often people reach out when their usual strategies to manage their life fail, and they feel stuck. Are you feeling like you can't think or talk your way out of your unhappiness? The role of the therapist is as a facilitator or guide to help you identify the patterns that are no longer working for you, and develop strategies to heal and change. I will work with you to develop a plan in therapy that meets your individual needs and goals. My style is to give a combination of compassion, honest feedback, non-judgment, humor, and warmth.

The world is fast-paced and busy, but therapy is where I can journey with clients through their experiences. I approach therapy collaboratively because all clients bring something to the table, and the client is the expert on their lived experience. I enjoy working with all ages and groupings and have experience with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples. As someone who has personally been through many transitions in life, I am excited to assist others in transition; I am particularly humbled when I have the opportunity to work with others who have experienced trauma .

We all feel lost from time to time, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been through my own therapy as a young adult when I was stuck in a bout of anxiety and panic attacks due to childhood trauma . Throughout my years of working with traumatized individuals, I learned first-hand about how childhood trauma can have a strong impact on adulthood. I can help you address unresolved trauma , in order for you to find passion, connection, and purpose in your life.

With more than 9 years of experience providing advocacy, case management, and support services to trauma survivors, I am passionate about applying evidence-based interventions and person-centered therapy to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD , complex trauma , and other areas of concern.
“How are you?” It seems sometimes an answer of “good” doesn’t summarize how you really feel. Things happen and you feel stuck. Sadness, loneliness and maybe hopelessness often occupy your mind. Sometimes, negative memories from the past and overly anxious thoughts about the future stop you from being in the present. It seems impossible for those around you to understand what you’re going through. Conflict, confusion, and discomfort seem like the norm, not the exception. You know something has to change and life must have more to offer, but you’re not sure where to start. If this describes your experiences, you're in the right place.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
