I specialize in end-of-life, bereavement support, spiritual psychology, compassionate-focused therapy, expressive arts, play in therapy, and mindfulness-based stress reduction for trauma, loss and grieving.
Writer John O'Donohue defines my view of being a therapist: "This is what therapy is about: helping people retrieve what has been lost to them, wakening and bringing home their fundamental wholesomeness.. Therapists are like poets: they draw on the power of words in the profoundly creative work of bringing people fully alive to themselves, awakening in them the human capacity for divine imagination that ‘dreams our completion’.”

Many people come to therapy during moments of change—when stress, grief, caregiver burnout, or long-held patterns begin to feel unmanageable.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe healing happens best in a space where you feel truly heard, respected, and understood. Together, we’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical, meaningful goals that align with your values.

Traumatic experiences, relationship attachment woundings and the general pressure to conform to social norms during our younger years can cause us to create some truly magnificent coping strategies. Unfortunately, these strategies can be integrated into our identity long after they've stopped serving their purpose. I am passionate about supporting people reconnect with their true nature, by exploring parts work and somatic experiencing. Our past does not define us, and this work makes it possible to access the inspired, motivated, wisdom that exists in abundance underneath our conditioning.

I bring a compassionate and mindfulness-based approach to support clients in creating a new experience of themselves whether they are navigating life transitions or struggling with anxiety, depression, stress or loss.
With a background in grief work, I support clients in the heart-full work around life losses. This can include the end of a relationship, a physical death, or pregnancy/newborn loss. I also work with individuals evaluating whether to end a relationship, and I find special meaning in helping couples bring healthy closure to the end of a committed partnership.

You feel soul-tired from carrying losses no one seems to fully see— grief, illness, disconnection, the weight of a thousand unspoken goodbyes.
You dream of feeling at ease in your body and at home in the world around you. You long for quiet moments of rest, belonging that feels steady and real, and the freedom to honor both grief and joy without fear of being “too much.” Most of all, you hope for relationships where you feel gently seen, understood, and deeply cared for.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
