The therapy I provide focuses on deep analysis of trauma, anxiety, depression, and somatization symptoms, including psychodynamic analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), multicultural therapy, feminist therapy, postmodern and deconstructionist methods, and healing intertwined with Christian culture.
Here, you don’t have to face life’s challenges and uncertainties alone. Together, we’ll explore the roots of interpersonal, marital, and parenting issues, gradually uncovering your authentic self—clarifying which traits, beliefs, thought patterns, and behaviors have formed unconsciously over time. If you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, or somatic symptoms, I warmly invite you to begin this journey of self-exploration. My approach delves into the core of trauma, helping you identify and gently deconstruct beliefs and fears you may not yet fully recognize. I’m here to support you in building genuine self-awareness.

I am passionate about supporting clients to advocate for their needs and embrace confidence in their journey of self expression. I specialize in individuals and groups, with a specific focus on anxiety, trauma, body image, disordered eating, and life transitions. I enjoy supporting current and retired athletes in finding balance, understanding their mental health, and feeling strong. I also deeply value empowering LGBTQIA+ individuals to live openly and authentically.

I am a left-leaning, intersectional feminist.
If you feel lost, adrift, tapped out, sunk, on pins and needles, or isolated: I can help. I work with individuals, couples, families, groups, and children to cope with debilitating symptoms such as anxiety, depression, compulsions, sexual dysfunction, anger, and life crises. There is something to be learned and gained from each circumstance, each symptom, no matter how painful. My aim is to help you increase functioning in your relationships, at work, and at school. When you feel more functional, then you can begin to make new choices and reach your highest potential. Sexual Minorities, LGBT/Alternative lifestyles welcome.

I provide trauma-informed therapy grounded in principles of relational attachment, existential psychotherapy, feminist multicultural psychotherapy, and harm reduction.
Hello there. I help clients build safety in their lives so they can embrace all parts of their self. I support adults who are working through shame, guilt, low self-compassion, and generally struggling to accept themselves. I work well with clients who are curious about improving boundaries, who have experienced past harmful family dynamics, and who are coming to terms with new diagnoses or life transitions.

I draw from psychodynamic, feminist theory, and somatic approaches.
There’s wisdom in the ways we’ve had to be to survive - it’s important to honor that. Yet at some point, we can move beyond survival and into fuller living. I specialize in working with people who want to know their true selves more deeply, and those who want to break cycles (intergenerational or their own). Particularly trans/nonbinary, LGBTQ+, immigrants/children of immigrants, and BIPOC. I also support parents (especially of LGBTQ+ children or who are LGBTQ+ themselves), as well as men who felt “too sensitive” or had to be “strong” and want to explore a masculinity that’s right for them. I work with college/graduate students

My approach to therapy is collaborative, relational, and feminist.
I work to tailor my approach to your needs. We may spend some sessions problem solving and building coping skills, and others exploring your past and relationship to your emotions. I believe that we cannot get rid of uncomfortable emotions like anxiety, but we can learn new skills for how we react to our emotions and thoughts.

Shame can't survive if we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding. Healing is inherently relational. It is my belief that the longer a person is unable to repair broken attachment patterns and insecure attachment behaviors, the more likely it is that they will find these patterns and behaviors replicated in their adult relationships. My background in philosophy uniquely equips me to address existential concerns and the profound anxieties that accompany modern life, offering a powerful tool for navigating these challenges.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
