I am comfortable treating issues of dual realities: behaviors; bipolar disorder; death; hyphenated/intersectional identities; inter/multi-generational traumas; relationships (children/parents, couples, blended families, siblings); life transitions and personal journeys of assimilation, breakup, borders crossing, conversion, displacement, divorce, migration, sobriety and transitioning - all great examples of the incredible power of human transformation.
My approach to therapy is: collaborative, curious, (psycho)educational, holistic, individualized, interactive, reciprocal, trauma informed catering to your own unique needs. I have experience working with different peoples: school-age children, at risk youth, justice involved, in crisis inpatient and substance misuse recovery programs, and in tech companies.

It is through the toys/games and relationship with the therapist that they are able to process the things that they are struggling with in their lives.
I also involve parents by providing parent psycho-education and by having a parent consultation meeting every 5 weeks (included in the fee).

Maybe the world has lost its color or you have lost your path. Perhaps the past still permeates your present in ways that feel impossible to shake. If you are tired of the constant friction of trying to prove your worth to yourself or please everyone around you, I am here to offer a different way forward.

With both personal and professional experience, I bring a unique perspective to therapy, helping clients explore, define, and understand issues such as addiction, depression, relationships, and grief and loss.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, believing that a full and satisfying treatment model requires nurturing the body, mind, and spirit. Imagine sitting on a three-legged stool; when all three legs are tended to, you feel safe and secure.

You are the expert when it comes to your life. Your unique constellation of experiences - difficult and easeful - can provide profound personal insight. Yet sometimes it is challenging to hear ourselves, trust ourselves, and to follow through in honoring our own needs.

I do individuals, couple, family therapy, with different modality like CBT, solution focus, Bowen.
Clients are looking for someone who can help them with their depression, anxiety, and someone who can help them learn more about themselves, and to help them improve their self-awareness. Clients have different issues, and they need to have someone being a good listener, validating, and acknowledging them throughout the sessions. Clients like to see their therapist help them to see the life with better lens, so they become more focused and stay in the present moment by learning healthy coping skills to make better decisions about their personal life, their careers, or when they’re not sure how to live a healthier life.

Along with substances, I have worked with youth using creative art therapy, and couples trying to improve their relationship.
Throughout my 15 years of treating people, I am comfortable with adults and youth. I have spent most of my time treating people who have substance abuse problems, however, that also means I have treated many mental health issues due to the substance. In the past 5 years, I have been treating couples who have conflict in their relationship.

Maybe your routine’s shifted, relationships feel different, or work and school are harder to manage.
I support adults and couples in exploring the roots of their challenges and building coping skills to manage ongoing symptoms. My approach emphasizes understanding over elimination, and I help clients repair or reimagine relationships with greater clarity, resilience, and intention.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
