Emotions are the language of energy. In this language, there are critical messages to be understood. Emotions communicate what your needs are. Your mind translates this information so that needs can be met. Sometimes, it feels unsafe to acknowledge your emotions so the intellect, instead, pushes emotions down. With emotions silenced, you become deprived of connection to yourself, to others and needs go unmet. In this deprivation, you also lose authenticity. The call to acknowledgement returns, again and again, louder and louder.

Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT, MA

I'm Certified in Brainspotting Therapy (equiv. to EMDR), a powerful approach that can help accurately access and process deep-seated emotions in the brain.
Are trauma, anxiety and insecurity controlling your life, preventing you from pursuing your dreams and living life to the fullest? Do you relive the past as if it were happening right now? Your head knows better, but it fails to convince your heart otherwise. As horrible as those experiences were in the past, they continue to zap away your joy and confidence today. You might even avoid situations that trigger the feelings. Are there any lost part of you that you'd like to return to? Do others believe in your competence more than you believe in yourself? What would it be like if life was driven by passion and joy, not fear or shame?

I welcome individuals who are navigating a wide range of experiences, from life transitions and adjustment concerns to the lasting effects of significant trauma. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, emotionally heavy, or disconnected and hoping for both a compassionate space to be deeply understood and practical support that makes everyday life feel easier. I see therapy as a collaborative relationship—one where we listen with curiosity and care, build useful skills together, and gently work toward a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and somatic therapies to support trauma processing and nervous system regulation, integrating CBT and mindfulness when helpful.
You may look capable, accomplished, and put together from the outside. You are thoughtful, self-aware, and often the person others rely on. You may understand your patterns intellectually, yet still feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted from carrying so much. Insight alone has not changed what you feel. These patterns are not random. They often reflect attachment wounds, trauma, cultural expectations, and the ways you learned to survive and stay connected.

Your childhood was rough, so you've learned how to do it all since you couldn't always count on your family. You wanted a different life for yourself, so you always pushed hard to prove to yourself & everyone else that you're different. You're the one everyone goes to, you're the planner, the one who gets stuff done, but behind the curtain you feel like you're constantly in fake-it-til-you-make it mode. You just keep doing more & pushing yourself, since that's what has always worked so far. But you're tired and burnt out, and you're looking for more in your life and your relationships.

You don’t understand why your family causes you so many sleepless nights. You need someone to talk to but feel shame bringing up family issues or you don’t know where to start. You try to please everyone but you end up being the unhappy one. You cut off toxic family relationships but this leaves you feeling guilt, loneliness, and resentment. To prove yourself, you work hard and sometimes overcompensate. Past unresolved issues consume your energy, make you question yourself, and become hesitant to try a new relationship. You don’t want to be your parents but you don’t know how not to. You doubt if you can live a different life.

I integrate psychotherapy with Brainspotting to support both emotional processing and nervous system regulation, helping clients find more flexibility, stability, and relief from patterns that no longer serve them.
You understand your patterns. You’re just tired of feeling stuck. Many of my clients are thoughtful, insightful people who have spent years trying to understand themselves. They’ve read the books, reflected deeply, and can often explain exactly why they feel the way they do. Yet despite all that insight, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or the same relationship patterns continue to show up. If you’ve ever thought, “I know what’s happening, but I still can’t seem to change it,” you’re not alone. My work focuses on helping your brain and nervous system catch up with what you already know.

Using Brainspotting, somatic therapy, and parts work, I help clients honor the parts of themselves that learned to survive, heal from trauma, and create space to finally exhale.
You've spent so much of your life being the caretaker, the cycle breaker, the strong one. You're the person others rely on, the one who holds everything together, and the one who keeps going even when you're exhausted. Maybe you've achieved a lot on the outside, but inside you're carrying the weight of trauma, family or cultural expectations, people-pleasing, perfectionism, masking, or the feeling that your worth is measured by what you do rather than who you are. You may find yourself caring for everyone else while struggling to make space for your own needs, feelings, and desires.

Our work is experiential, includes somatic practices and other process-oriented approaches, like Brainspotting, with reflection and sprinkle of humor as a resilience-builder, shaped by my lawyerly wit and a belief in human capacity.
You’re capable, thoughtful, and quietly exhausted. Life moves forward — work, relationships, responsibilities — but inside there’s a low-grade ache of being stuck, anxious, disconnected, or something you haven’t quite found words for yet. Maybe you’re navigating burnout, relationship strain, or a life transition that shook your footing. You may sense these patterns didn’t start yesterday. You’re not looking for quick-fix, surface solutions. You want clarity, emotional steadiness, and a deeper understanding of yourself — so life feels less like managing and more like living.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
