In addition, I feel it is vital that parents can also trust me as we partner together to support their child/ teen .
I believe children and teens can learn, grow, and thrive when they have coping skills, feel empowered, and practice self-care. My goal is to encourage youth to learn who they are and how to advocate for their unique needs. I specialize in working with neurodiverse, gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) youth and their families. I encourage youth to use their strengths and interests in order to grow, heal, and cope. Building self-awareness, such as understanding their own sensory processing and asynchronous development, is an important part of my work with youth.

If anything I've written here resonates with you, please reach out! If you're here for your teenager , and they're struggling, please reach out! I know how to connect to them.
I hear and see you! I have personal experience aiding clients of all ages, but have worked extensively with teens. I have worked with clients who faced issues with depression, anxiety, self worth, relentless inner chatter, complicated relationships, transitional life stages, infertility, public speaking, the global pandemic and generational cultural expectations which differ from one's own values. What everyone does have in common is that they are looking for a better relationship with themselves and others. I understand you because of my experience and I know how to assist you in overcoming your life challenges. You are not alone.

I am a First Generation Vietnamese-American. I grew up in a household with traditional Vietnamese parents who taught me the importance of rituals, family, & strong values. I struggled with cultural & generational differences and I learned ways to embrace my two worlds & improve on my relationship with my family members, while still staying true to myself. I encourage you to utilize the meditation corner before/after our sessions. The relationship between your mind, body & soul is key to your healing and is crucial to gain freedom form suffering (whatever that may be)

Welcome to my practice. I have about 15 years of clinical experience and have been featured on NBC/KCAL/HLN as an expert psychologist. I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.

In an atmosphere of love and total acceptance, I use proven interventions to bring awareness and internal movement.

You might be seeking help because you feel stuck in your relationships, with your family or with your child. The stories of our lives are powerful and can shape our reality. You might be holding stories and pain about yourself, your family, the world, or your child that are interfering with a present focus and ability to face current challenges. I believe that healing is an art that takes time, practice, and love. Your healing needs to be done with upmost care and with the greatest intentions. As an intergenerational trauma specialist, you and I will become archeologists of your past, uncovering the missing pieces to help you become whole again. In this journey, we leave no stones unturned. Though I work with most individuals and couples, I especially love to work with mothers, healers, therapists, nurses, and those in the caring field. I also love to work with artists, writers, and soul seekers who wants to better connect with themselves to further their creations.

I am an LMFT, mother of two, first generation college graduate, Senior Leader at a community-based MHO and coffee enthusiast. I was raised by a single mother and an army of strong Latinas, along with the opinions and judgments of a traditional Mexican household. I've had my share of generational trauma and the struggles that come with navigating a culture you are being measured against that clashes with the one you are being raised in. I am not new to being 'the first' and find that this has become somewhat of a superpower and motivating force in my life.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
