Many therapists spend their days holding space for the pain, trauma, and struggles of others. Over time that emotional labor can become heavy. You may feel burned out, carry the weight of clients’ stories, struggle to turn off “therapist mode,” or feel isolated in private practice. Even skilled clinicians need a place where they don’t have to be the one holding everything together. Therapy can offer a space to reconnect with yourself, process what you carry, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

I love working with highly motivated couples and individuals who are ready to do the hard work of healing. Maybe you’ve spent years getting degrees or a dream job at the expense of connection to others. Perhaps alcohol or drugs helped you cope for a while but they’ve created some problems of their own. The pressure to succeed can be traumatic and distance you from those you love. I want to help you realign to succeed in life and love!

You look capable and put together, but inside you feel stuck. You may be caught in patterns like emotional distance, secrecy, compulsive behaviors, or repeated relationship struggles you can’t seem to change. Maybe you’re coming out of a breakup or betrayal, or feeling disconnected from intimacy, meaning, or yourself. You’re thoughtful and self-aware — but tired of understanding your patterns without actually feeling different.

My clients often find me in a moment of tension. They are stuck between who they want to be, and where they find themselves currently. I come from a family of immigrants and entrepreneurs, and understand the pressure to build a life, carry expectations, and stay connected to your own voice in the process. A core part of my therapy with individuals, couples, and families is the deeper understanding, connection, and love of our own natures.

I think of therapy as the opening of a conversation. Often, the struggles that bring us to therapy are actually invitations—doorways to growth, change, and new possibilities. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I offer Telehealth services to support clients throughout the state. My approach is tailored to the individual. I work collaboratively with each client to identify personal strengths and inner resources as the foundation for navigating life’s challenges. My style is warm, open, and actively engaged.

As a Jungian analyst I welcome your dreams, reveries and expressive arts. Sandplay may be integrated into talking together about life - past present future. Working with the unconscious is seen as a resource for healing and growth. Images from dreams, sandplay and art are used to explore deeper meanings and to elucidate concerns. I believe in a growth oriented model for therapy, viewing problems-in-living as an opportunity to promote self-development, growth, and healing.

Hi, friend. I'm Kelly. I'm a certified life coach helping you make hard decisions and do hard things. Like you, I spent decades putting others' needs before my own—at work, in my family of origin, and in my own home. After almost 20 years of leadership roles and a lifetime’s worth of plot twists in my personal life (religious and work trauma, chronic illness, late-identified neurodivergence, coming out as queer, and supporting both my spouse and child through gender transitions), I made the decision in 2018 to help others discover the joy, peace, and clarity that comes with finally identifying and prioritizing your own needs.

Welcome! I’m a licensed therapist with experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. My background in community mental health informs my therapeutic style; I take an approach rooted in harm reduction and advocacy. I enjoy working with folks navigating emerging adulthood, exploring identity, and navigating life transitions such as career changes. I also enjoy exploring how the past impacts attachment style and relational patterns, and how understanding and naming these aspects of ourselves can support our journey toward healing. My goal is for you to feel safe, seen, and validated.

Have you been struggling to “get it together” for some time now? Maybe you feel left out or confused because your friends and peers seem to have their lives all figured out. You have goals for yourself but can’t seem to get moving on them much less achieve them. Perhaps you have great starts but after a few weeks those 'starts' began to slow down to an eventually halt; once again leaving you with feelings like disappointment, maybe anger, or perhaps lonely to the point of not wanting to try again.

I am an AuDHD, queer, nonbinary, and white multicultural therapist offering affirming online therapy throughout California. My practice is rooted in both personal and clinical experience, focusing on neurodivergence, trauma, trans and nonbinary experiences, non-monogamous and mixed-neurotype relationships, and navigating burnout in all areas of life under capitalism. I know how isolating it can feel when you’re misunderstood, especially when living with trauma or marginalized identities. Healing isn’t just about what happens in therapy; it’s also about finding connection and belonging in the world outside of it.

Secular and Non-Religious Therapists
What is a secular and non religious approach in therapy?
Secular or non-religious therapy is a theoretical orientation used by many therapists and describes a therapeutic approach that does not rely on any specific religious or faith-based beliefs in the therapeutic process. Secular counselors will often approach therapy with an emphasis on evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients, instead of relying on religious practices, such as prayer or belief in God.

Is secular therapy primarily for non-religious people?
Both religious and non-religious individuals can benefit from secular therapy. People exploring their religious or spiritual beliefs may find it especially useful to work with a secular therapist who is unbiased toward any specific religion. While religious individuals might value the connection and familiarity of seeing a counselor who shares their beliefs, secular counseling can offer them the chance to develop coping skills independent of their religious practice, which can be beneficial in various aspects of their lives.

Can a secular approach to therapy help with religious trauma?
One major reason clients may seek a secular therapist is to process previous religious experiences, including religious trauma. Secular therapists can help clients manage symptoms of the trauma through practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They can also encourage clients through talk therapy or psychodynamic approaches to explore the roots of their religious trauma. Since secular therapists do not have any predetermined religious beliefs, they can be particularly helpful for clients looking to explore their own religious beliefs following a history of religious trauma.

What does non religious marriage and premarital counseling involve?
Marriage and premarital counseling typically involves a couple meeting with a therapist to discuss topics such as planning for marriage, navigating a new marriage, addressing relationship challenges, and developing better communication and conflict resolution skills. Non-religious therapists assist couples in achieving these goals without adhering to specific religious beliefs or frameworks, often emphasizing inclusivity and non-judgment, especially for "nontraditional" couples. However, seeking couples therapy from a non-religious counselor does not mean religious topics are off-limits. In fact, non-religious couples from different religious backgrounds may benefit from a secular therapist who remains neutral toward the beliefs of each partner.
