I work primarily with adults and young adults suffering with trauma, using EMDR alongside CBT and solution-focused and person-centered approaches that support real change. Something uncomfortable brought you here. You may have tried to move forward and found that something still lingers. You understand what’s going on, but it hasn’t shifted in a meaningful way. My clients come ready to do real work and to find relief. I meet each person as a whole person, not as a diagnosis or as a presenting problem. Our focus is on what hasn’t moved and why, so you’re not just managing symptoms but creating genuine, lasting movement forward.

The people I've been able to help most feel stuck and seek direction in recovering an assured sense of who they are and their potential. We are all creatures of adaptation, and many of us learn early on to adjust to whatever the world asks of us. In modern times this can too easily lead to information overload, causing us to internalize the priorities of our parents, peers, and culture - agendas that don't always serve our own interests. This disconnection from our authentic selves often leads to anxiety, depression, and career dissatisfaction.

My experience working in the helping professions ranges from public schools to private practice. As well as a therapist, I am a mother; a partner in a bi-cultural household; the daughter of a single immigrant mom; and currently a care provider to my aging parent. Apart from family and work, I focus on political activism and community development projects in Mexico.
I work best with clients who believe in change. Our work might focus on removing the grasp that worry and fear have on them or on removing other obstacles to well being such as grief, oppression, resentment, life transitions, unhealthy relationships, and self-doubt.

I'm in network with major plans through Headway, including Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Aetna, Quest Behavioral Health, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of CA.
I work with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults in California navigating trauma, burnout, identity, and relationship concerns. My ideal client may be exploring non-monogamy, healing religious or racial trauma, or seeking sex-positive, kink-affirming support. They want a therapist who understands systemic oppression and offers a space that feels safe, honest, and liberatory. Their goals include reclaiming joy, building self-trust, and living with more authenticity. They want therapy that sees the whole person — not just symptoms — and meets them where they are.

Many people who reach out for therapy have spent a long time pushing through difficult emotions while managing family expectations, cultural responsibilities, and major life stressors. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and culturally aware space where you can focus on yourself.

We all have work to do. We don't have to do it alone. In a safe, non-judgmental environment, I explore with my clients their dreams, artwork, relationships, and daily life experiences, to bring light and insight to blockages and barriers to their full experience and enjoyment of life. Such blockages can be past trauma, incorrect embedded beliefs, injured parts, and/or ingrained thought patterns and habits. Once these things are processed and/or healed, new ways forward can be nurtured.
