Anxiety can show up in the form of worry, self-doubt, imposterism, public speaking anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, phobias, health anxiety, burnout, and insomnia.
The good news is that psychologists have developed a deep understanding of these issues, including how they first begin, what maintains them, and how to unhook from unhelpful patterns and spirals. I am trained in a number of evidence-based treatments that truly do work. I help clients overcome anxiety and build a meaningful, values-driven life.

I provide private virtual psychotherapy for adults and couples across California. In-person availability is limited. My clients are often intelligent, high-functioning adults whose struggles aren’t simple: anxiety tied to health, identity shifts with aging, addiction patterns, relational cycles, burnout, or the psychological effects of metabolic and neurocognitive change. They want therapy that integrates mind, body, behavior, and biology — not just talking, but real psychological movement grounded in how the brain and body actually work.

Welcome to my practice! Have you been feeling like anxiety, low mood and motivation have been getting you stuck and preventing you from living the life you want to? Anxiety is a normal and important feeling that we developed to protect us from harm. If you are experiencing overwhelming levels of anxiety though, it can prevent you from doing things you care about, disrupt your social life and cause intense distress. Similarly, if you suffer from very low mood and motivation, it might seem impossible to engage in activities you previously cared about.

So much of our deepest pain shows up in our relationships—with partners, family and even within ourselves. You might find yourself in repetitive cycles of conflict, distance or misunderstanding with someone you love, or you may feel stuck in patterns of self-criticism, anxiety or disconnection from who you are. Whether you’re struggling in your relationship or navigating challenges on your own, it can feel overwhelming to face it without support. In our work together, I offer a space where you can slow down and feel truly heard.

I help clients develop new strategies and frameworks when it comes to negotiating with anxiety, OCD, and unwanted repetitive thinking.
Life can feel overwhelming when challenges like anxiety, depression, grief, conflict, or unhelpful patterns seem to block your path. But these struggles don’t define who you are or what’s possible for you.

Between working long hours, trying to maintain a social life, and tending to other responsibilities, it can be hard to find the time and energy for self-care. When burnout is shaped by systemic and collective trauma, taking time for yourself becomes an essential act of survival and resistance. I applaud you for showing up for yourself in a world that often asks for more than feels possible.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
