Starting to look for a therapist can be overwhelming, so congratulations on taking a huge first step! I am a very self-compassion-focused therapist, which means that I will constantly be pointing out the ways that you are already trying your hardest to take care of yourself. I believe that most people deal with constant streams of self-criticism, which contributes to the feeling that they are not and will never be good enough. I’d be a great fit for anyone looking to notice and challenge their self-criticism, and to ultimately build a better relationship with themself.

Before becoming a social worker and a therapist, I was a meditator in the Buddhist tradition. I was attracted to Buddhism because it directly addressed the problem of suffering and what to do about it. It offered practices to relieve suffering and promote happiness, which I began to experience the more I practiced. This inspired me to train to become a therapist, through which I learned about many additional forms of suffering and ways to relieve that suffering in myself and others.
