Essentially, we want to reclaim an authentic connection with our self and others.

I fundamentally believe that healing happens in relationships where we feel safe, supported, and seen. To this end, I strive to cultivate a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental relationship with my clients. Therapy will look different for everyone, but I will seek to partner with you to explore difficult past experiences and current challenges in living as a way to better understand what's working and what's not. I will work to help you slow down and tune into the present moment to increase your ability to cope, while also making sense of the ways your developmental context as well as systems of oppression may have impacted you.

Something is off…even if you can’t put your finger on what it is. Maybe you know exactly what it is. You might see the patterns you’re stuck in—the same kinds of relationships, ways of thinking, or reactions you aren’t proud of—but can never seem to actually shift them. You've tried everything and looked everywhere for answers (and relief), but you still come up empty. I believe it’s possible to get unstuck, but sometimes it takes a different approach to get there—one that helps you connect with the lost and emerging parts of yourself. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, seeking clarity, or need a place to simply breathe, I’m here.

If you've been in therapy before and had a not-so-great experience, chances are you'll fare better with me. I can't guarantee this, but I say it confidently because I'm very good at adapting how I work to each client's needs and abilities - especially in the early going.

You deserve better than to stay stuck. (Though some of you have nagging thoughts that you may not). You deserve to be in less pain. Perhaps you’re coping with a loss of some kind like a divorce or a death and that’s been difficult? Often it is easier to reduce distress and achieve your goals with the help of a therapist who is objective, can hear your WHOLE story and hold it in confidence, and who can offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy. You deserve to feel “seen” and feel valued and you may need a place to nurture yourself and develop better coping skills for what life has thrown your way lately. Let me help.

I help people move through stuck patterns—overwhelm, self-criticism, relationship loops—so there’s more room for aliveness and choice. My approach is integrative and depth-oriented (relational, contemporary psychoanalytic, trauma-informed). Together we’ll slow down, notice what’s happening, and understand the meanings beneath symptoms so real change can take root.

I've always believed that our sense of self is made up of stories- the ones we’re given, and the ones we tell ourselves. In my previous life as a film producer and studio executive, I spent years helping shape stories in film. Over time, I became fascinated by how that same process unfolds within each of us: how our stories - about self, others and the world- can lift us up, or hold us back. That curiosity led me to pursue a new path as a therapist so that I could help people reframe and reshape the stories that determine the quality of their lives.

You’ve learned how to function on the outside — to stay composed, keep moving, and try to handle what life throws at you. But inside, you feel burnt out, anxious, maybe have emotions that you can't describe. Maybe there’s a steady sense of overwhelm, anxiety that comes out of nowhere, feeling like you can't escape your mind. You might overthink things, overanalyze reactions, or find yourself shutting down or pulling away from people without fully understanding why. These aren’t personal flaws within you — they’re often trauma responses, old survival strategies your mind and nervous system learned to use to cope with everyday life.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
