I draw from evidence-based treatment modalities, including: EMDR, IFS, DBT, CBT, ACT , EFT, and mindfulness strategies.
Life can feel overwhelming--but it doesn't have to. If you have experienced trauma, whether recurring or as an isolated incident, even the typical stresses of a normal day can provoke anxiety, fear, anger, or withdrawal. Luckily, therapy can provide you tools to deal with life's challenges, enabling you to minimize your stress levels and continue your personal growth. I will guide you to increased happiness and well-being by supporting you in exploring and enacting lasting, positive changes in your relationships with others, and most importantly, with yourself.

All can be entry points into better self-understanding and acceptance , and finding the right solutions for ourselves.
If you are having a difficult time right now, you are not alone. Painful experiences and ongoing internal struggles can have a profound impact on our lives over time.  We may feel stuck, unsure of what we need. My approach aims to help you gain personal insight and awareness, and develop tools for improved coping and removing obstacles to growth. I draw from orientations that are based in early attachment and development, somatic practices, and some mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral tools if needed. Always, we develop a plan that is tailored to your needs and comfort.

My training is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I integrate my specialization of other evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy ( ACT ) with the power of mindfulness to provide an adaptive and flexible approach to your needs.
We are often ruled by thoughts and patterns of conditioning that are largely outside of our awareness. While adaptive, this process can sometimes lead us astray. I aim to help you uncover unhealthy patterns of conditioning by cultivating awareness through mindful intention which will ultimately help guide you towards a more conscious and fulfilling life. I have extensive experience working with individuals suffering from mood disorders, trauma-related disorders and substance abuse.

Weeding out what holds us captive in doubt, while empowering individuality and acceptance of self.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is built from trust and sincerity. My hope is to hold space for a genuine connection that fosters dynamic self reflection. Looking deeper into the layers of experience that inform our internal gaze and external lens, and what we intrinsically value and believe. Whether you are looking to unravel patterns of codependency, improve communication with your partner(s), or navigate through body shame and disordered eating, I see opportunity for clarity and resolve.

My theoretical orientation includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy ( ACT ), and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I provide phone and online sessions, please contact me by emails. I have 13 years of experience working with individuals and couples. To me, therapy is a form of healing that helps us find balance and psychological flexibility through a therapeutic process. Whether it is learning more coping skills or arriving to a new insight about ourselves, it is a journey of understanding our lives better. Through that journey, we will learn WHEN and WHAT to let go or to keep. Exploring what serve us purpose now, even the negative behaviors, can help us understand our past, present and future.

I use a collaborative and holistic approach that combines many therapies proven to work - Applied Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectal Behavior Therapy.
Accepting new clients (update May 2023): I help clients shine a light on things not serving them - limiting beliefs, low self-esteem, negative habits, self-critical thoughts, or unhealthy relationships. Each of my clients is an expert in their own experience, and my role is to help you understand and take affirming actions and positive steps in the right direction. I am particularly interested in working with people navigating transition, relationship issues, or who have a deep desire for a greater sense of meaning or healthier self-esteem. I also enjoy working with college-age adults struggling with anxiety or depression.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
