"Your body is your subconscious mind and you can't heal it by talk alone." - Candace Pert. You may be unaware of your unconscious desires and how they affect your actions. You may know what the right choices are but choose comfort at the expense of your genuine desires. You need not criticize yourself to explore your challenges and make changes in your life.
I believe in the transformational power of play and creativity for children, especially in the context of a warm, confidential relationship with a caring therapist. I understand that behavioral change is both skill based and relational. I have over thirty years of experience working only with children and adolescents in individual therapy. Thus I bring to my work a lifetime of professional experience understanding the developmental and attachment needs of children, a background of work in childhood trauma, anxiety symptoms and the special considerations required in helping children and parents navigate divorce.
If you are suffering with fear, sadness, confusion, loneliness, anger, or other difficult emotions, perhaps I can help. These feelings generally come and go for all of us, but if they come and don't go, then this can be a problem. Maybe this is what brought you here, and you've already tried various things to feel better, but haven't gotten very far. Life can be difficult and perplexing, and wading through the sludge of painful emotions and troublesome thoughts and behaviors on your own can be frustrating and overwhelming.
*MY PRACTICE IS CURRENTLY FULL.* Many of us long for deeper attachments, more intimate understanding from those around us, and new skills. Yet we can find ourselves avoiding the commitments and the profound effort that developing these require. We avoid hard work--physical, mental, or emotional. Seeking therapy and change requires courage and diligence. You are not lazy. However, you might be confounded by the barriers of fear, exhaustion, pain, or habit. My goal is to listen keenly and compassionately. I want to know your personal story, and I want you to feel understood and supported in your transformation.
I currently have openings for Sundays at 1pm or 3pm and Mondays at 1pm and 3pm! As a therapist I offer a safe space and open ears for those looking for non-judgmental psychological support. We are living in a very difficult time and I want to help support you through the hot mess that life can be. I offer relational collaborative work where we create you treatment plan together. I maintain a safe(r) space for all race, faith, gender, and sexuality identities, as well as work with people exploring these topics. I look forward to working with you!
Therapy doesn't have to be a mysterious and confusing process. I believe that it should be linked directly to one's personal goals and desire for change. I'll work with you to enhance your self-knowledge, expand your emotional awareness and thinking to provide you new ways of solving problems and enhancing well-being. My style is direct and collaborative and aims to identify patterns of thinking, feeling, acting and relating that reinforce fears and negative attitudes, thereby limiting your ability to pursue your goals. Exploring the underlying forces and dynamics driving those patterns opens up new avenues for growth and change.
I believe therapy works best when you feel a deepening in self-awareness and inner-strength. When this happens it often coincides with feeling connected and understood by me. This is the main pathway to meaningful and lasting changes. My approach is psychodynamic and my style is direct, collaborative, and playful. Difficult and challenging behaviors often result in feeling stagnated and trapped in an endless cycle. By unpacking the underlying dynamics that are driving these struggles, you will feel more freedom to reach your goals.
We believe that the value of your health goes beyond just your physical health. Emotional, psychological and social health are important in creating overall health and well being. It is our goal at Honeycomb Group to help you become the person, couple or family you want to be, and uncover your full potential.
Perhaps your relationships, career, or creative pursuits are not going as you would like. Challenges around identity and sense of self may be plaguing you. You may feel bogged down by feeling frustrated, unmotivated, anxious, overwhelmed, guilty, ashamed, or sad. Whatever your struggles, together we can help you better understand what’s going on and what may be getting in the way of change. I take as a basic premise that you are more than a collection of symptoms or a problem to be fixed and believe that you and what troubles you deserve our full attention and thorough exploration with the goal of long-term sustainable growth.
I can help you find a felt sense of safety and wellbeing within yourself. My goal is to help you obtain compassion for your self so that a more clear understanding of your path and options becomes available to you. This will help you to heal heart and mind and to grow towards your highest self in a loving and kind way. I have worked as a psychotherapist in several countries, I work with a multicultural lens and I am natively bilingual in English and Spanish.
My style is warm, collaborative, playful, direct, and flexible. Psychotherapy is one of the few places where individuals are free to explore and express themselves in a deeply personal way. People come to therapy for different reasons and with different goals in mind. I am committed to offering a space that is innovative and values uniqueness, developing a way of working with you that accounts for your complexity and individual preferences. I encourage open dialogue and feedback regarding what you find helpful.
Are you feeling the weight of caregiving and don’t know how to start prioritizing your own well being? Do you have trouble bonding in meaningful ways with those closest to you? Are you and your partner having trouble staying connected during life transitions? These are issues I often guide clients through, empowering them to live lives of authenticity and alignment. We can collaborate to clarify your values, let go of limiting beliefs, and make space for all of your experiences. If things seem to be going sideways in your life, we will find a way to change your course. You can live the life of peace and meaning that you deserve.

Often in life there are unexpected events or life transitions that challenge our abilities to cope or understand our sense of self or purpose. When what has been helpful to navigate life is no longer working, symptoms may show up in the form of sadness, depression, anxiety, stress, physical ailments, feelings of isolation, or an overwhelm of emotions that may be difficult to manage alone. I view therapy as a unique opportunity for honest observation and exploration in service of creating a deeper connection with your inherent nature as a way to discover how you can find support from yourself, as well as, feel supported by others.

Anxiety can wreck relationships, work, creativity, focus, and self-worth by leaving you exhausted and unable to escape feeling overwhelmed. Maybe there are even days when you have so much dread that you struggle to get out of bed, which leaves you feeling guilty and unproductive. You spin your wheels worrying about everything. You long to connect more deeply with other people and to belong, or to experience more intimacy in your romantic relationships. You want more excitement and meaning. To make it worse, you may feel that no one understands what you go through or you have no one to talk to about it.
My philosophy in working with youth and adults is to share cognitive and mindfulness techniques, in a supportive setting, to help my clients make positive changes in their thoughts and actions. Utilizing personal accountability, combined with humor and lightness, I aim to help clients cultivate compassion for themselves, so they may be willing to experiment with new tools. I strive to help clients come back into their bodies, more effectively process their feelings, and move decisively toward wellness. My theory is to be flexible and sensitive in my approach while moving clients toward a more confident, realized version of themselves.
Sometimes it is hard to ask for help. You have everyone else convinced that you have got it all together. However, there's parts of yourself you do not recognize, don't understand or simply feel you can not change. Sometimes these thoughts and feelings can lead us to behave in ways that are not healthy.
I provide psychoanalytic psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Psychotherapy is a deeply personal and intimate undertaking that allows us to privately express, explore, and make sense of our lives and histories. I offer a style that is down-to-earth, thoughtful, practical, and collaborative. Because each person seeks out therapy for different reasons and brings a complex history, I tailor each treatment to meet your unique needs, goals, strengths, and preferences.
