My practice is relational and psychodynamic, although I draw from contemplative traditions when appropriate as well.
Depression. Anxiety. Relationship struggles. Low self-esteem. These are common issues that people face when it comes to mental health challenges, which are enough to make life difficult. Chances are your relationships, and most importantly your relationship with yourself, have been greatly impacted by these factors. There's this sense that something has to change, but you might not know where to begin. Together we embark on this journey of uncovering just how you got here and discovering where you want to go.

I aim to help my clients achieve their goals by dissolving obstacles, discovering patterns, and gaining insights while developing new skills to cope with life challenges. This journey may take a few sessions or several, and it requires motivation, commitment, and consistency. I work best with clients who are willing to be accountable and responsible for the changes they wish to make in their lives.

My theoretical framework is psychodynamic, trauma informed, with a social justice lens.
Life can be messy and you still deserve to live their best life. I support adults navigating all kinds of life transitions- where you can have a range of emotions; this could be something from the past that is hard to let go of; it could be a break up, starting a new career, navigating motherhood, or gender transition. Therapy can be a great way to improve your relationship with yourself by giving you a better understanding of who you are and why you do the things you do; this can serve as a catalyst to improve your overall life starting with how you feel about yourself and your relationships with others.

My clinical approach is multi-disciplinary and rooted in psychodynamic theory, existential psychology, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also have a background in integrative health and wellness, which can contribute to a more in-depth perspective on treatment. My style is collaborative, intuitive, direct, and non-judgemental, and I encourage clients to be true to themselves and transparent. Although treatment is based on an individual's needs and goals, principle themes in all treatment are to help one regain one’s confidence and strength and to reinforce one’s resiliency.

” I fuse Somatic Psychology, IFS, and Psychodynamic Humanistic principles to help my clients restore their MindBody connection so they Thrive instead of survive.
Are you an emerging professional experiencing anxiety, relationship distress, or dissociation? Are you often hypervigilant, insecure or disconnected from your body? Do you feel you can't trust yourself? Are you aware of self-defeating behaviors, but can't seem to change them? You may have had a "late-in-life" diagnosis, realized your gender or even childhood weren’t what you thought they were. You may have had a recent breakup, job change, newborn or Saturn Return. Wherever you’re at, you want long-lasting change and a Right-Fit Therapist. Someone who is not only Neurodivergent-affirming, but who is Neurodivergent themself.

I draw from psychodynamic, somatic, gestalt, transpersonal, and relational modalities and tailor my approach based on your needs and desires.
Therapy is about developing a new kind of relationship with one's experience. Much of our pain, suffering, and struggle stem from resisting the experience, judging it, and denying it. My work is dedicated to helping you embrace the challenges and find meaning in them by helping you slow down, enter the experience, and discover your potent spark. We have our answers within and by looking inside, our suffering finds meaning and transformation, our vision finds clarity and awakening.

My practice is person-centered, strengths-based, and draws from relational psychodynamic, Intersectional, and social justice frameworks.
The decision to embark on the path of healing and face oneself, is not an endeavor to be taken lightly, as it requires courage, vulnerability, and patience. With that said, intentionally delving into a healing process can be a powerful and liberating experience - an amazing journey, filled with new discoveries about oneself. In my practice I help my clients shed light on their unconscious process, gain more awareness about themselves, including what motivates them, better understand how they relate to others in their lives, as well as find healthier ways of connecting and coping.

I use tools from psychodynamic therapies, solution focused therapy, cognitive based therapies, mindfulness based practices.
Life can be better... we can feel, think, and live more in alignment with the ways that we really want to. Psychotherapy is an effective tool that can help get us there. While friends can help relieve loneliness and various medications can ease symptoms, the process of psychotherapy helps us to change the way we experience and interact with our feelings and with the world around us. For the past 20 years I have had a full-time psychotherapy practice and have helped many individuals and couples activate potential and live fuller more rewarding lives.

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
