Some topics that may be covered are inner child work, reparenting, ego work, consciousness/mindfulness, the subconscious mind, boundaries,
somatic
interventions, autonomic nervous system, attachment, narratives, self-regulation skills, and/or co-regulation skills.
My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, self-esteem, trauma, codependency, and life stressors. Treatment is tailored to each individual person. A holistic therapy approach is utilized, which is the combination of contemporary and alternative treatments with evidence-based practices to assist a person in achieving balance in mind, body, and energy. A deeper understanding of the whole self can lead to increased self-awareness, self-esteem, self-acceptance, and emotional/physical well-being.

"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." Rumi. I believe we build barriers as an attempt to protect ourselves from childhood and adult relational traumas however, these mind and body defenses are no longer necessary and block us from what we truly want in life; inadvertently causing more suffering than protection. The symptoms of these barriers manifest as depression, anxiety, addiction ,,, as well as physical illness.

Are you fearful about finding/losing love? Do you suffer with feelings of worthlessness or feel incapable of being loved? Healthy connections are a primary need that we all have. Healthy attachments help us regulate our emotions to live a joyful and peaceful life. Is your relationship in trouble? Does your relationship feel dull and lifeless? Are you at the beginning of a new relationship and want to make sure this one works out? We all need to learn how to make relationships work. There are a few things you need to know. 1. All relationships go through a cycle, and one of those cycles includes conflict. Yes, conflict is supposed to happen because it helps us grow and heal. 2. All those great feelings you had at the beginning were because of hormones, and they don't last. 3. You are in this relationship because you hold the key to each other's healing. I can help create a safe environment.

The cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and
somatic
approaches that I offer, will help you break free from this cycle.
You wake up exhausted, and defeated. High anxiety, racing thoughts and loneliness overshadow every hint of joy in your life. As your energy plummets, small tasks become huge. Just talking seems like a chore. Irritability and exhaustion are a constant battle. Loved ones complain that you are removed and shutdown. You want to let them in, but it’s hard to trust anyone. It’s become impossible to turn off that negative voice in your head that keeps saying you aren’t doing enough. No one understands. Everything triggers you. The past is tied up with the present, your thoughts are dark, and you’re afraid of losing everything.

I provide several types of services including individual therapy,
Somatic
Experiencing® (SE), a body-focused approach to treating trauma, conscious relationship coaching, and non-traditional, in home therapeutic support for adolescents and young adults who are in need of more intensive support beyond weekly outpatient therapy.
I am so happy you are here! Choosing healing is a courageous and beautiful choice and it is my greatest privilege to support those who seek the path of healing their pain. Healing is a journey of remembering again and again that we are whole. There is nothing that can truly separate us from this wholeness, not even our most profound pain or deepest wounds. In fact, the place of our deepest pain is the portal into our healing. I am an integrative and holistic therapist, seeking to shift the paradigm of mental health treatment away from pathology and toward the truth: our wounding does not make us broken.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
