Navigating life's circumstances and challenges can take up a lot of space in our lives. Maybe you are looking for more spaciousness, more time for yourself, or an extra ear to listen to and fully "get" you. Or perhaps anxiety or depression has become a constant presence, and you desire a change and want more connection. Sharing our experiences with others provides an opportunity to feel understood. In a therapeutic relationship, we explore patterns and coping strategies to better form a picture of how we operate in the world. It can help us identify what is and isn't working towards getting your needs met more fully.

I recognize that coming to therapy is a courageous first step and it is natural to be afraid of what is unfamiliar, especially if you are struggling. I am sensitive to the fact that many people experience very real guilt and shame around therapy and seeking help. As a South Asian American woman, I grew up in a community and culture that often did not understand therapy and its benefits. Moreover, therapy has historically been misrepresented as something for a small subset of people in the most extreme of situations. My message to you is that therapy is for ordinary, everyday people who are struggling in remarkable ways.

Fear and anxiety can create feelings of vulnerability and self-doubt that lead us to withdraw and lose connection with our inner strengths. In these moments, negative thought patterns can take hold, reinforcing cycles of anxiety or depression. Healing and freedom, however, are possible when we intentionally reconnect with our self-awareness, core values, and cultural identities. Through purposeful reflection and vulnerability, we can build a deeper understanding of ourselves and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

After many years in the field, I have now transitioned to focusing on supervising, lecturing, consulting and public speaking. I have been grateful for the experiences I have had in a range of settings. In my recent work as a clinical director, I have felt drawn to supporting therapist into the field, to guide them into understanding the complexities of human need and also teaching unique ways to approach difficult cases.

My priority first and foremost is to build trust in the client-therapist relationship. It can be challenging to share painful thoughts and emotions with others, so I believe it is a privilege whenever I am allowed into someone’s internal world. I take a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy, working with clients to address life transitions, family or relationship issues, overwhelming emotions, and self-harm. Having worked extensively with ethnically- and gender- diverse populations, I especially enjoy helping young adults explore their sense of identity and find meaningful roles in their communities.

Are you looking for a therapy experience where your culture, sexuality, and identity are the foundation of the work? If you are navigating the intersections of Asian American/cultural identity and queerness, recovering from religious trauma, or seeking a sex-positive space for LGBTQ+ and polyamory/kink issues, you deserve to be heard without judgment. You shouldn't have to code-switch in your own healing space. In our work together, we move beyond "standard" talk therapy. Using tools like CBT, ACT, and decolonized frameworks, we will work to dismantle the internal systems of oppression that hold you back.

I work with clients who may be struggling with Racial Identity or Intergenerational Trauma related to their relationships or family.
I work with Filipino/a/x Americans who are navigating identity, healing, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in exploring the impact of colonialism and colonial mentality, while creating space for decolonial healing through frameworks like Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino Psychology) and Filipino American Psychology. Many of the people I support are working through anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, self-esteem, and men’s issues, often shaped by intergenerational messages and cultural expectations. Together, we’ll explore how these experiences have influenced your sense of self and relationships.

I don't want to be your therapist. I don't want you in therapy. I want you to learn how to step into your own power, embrace your authenticity, and to cultivate meaningful community. My role is to help you find your voice, identify your needs, recognize what stands in your way, and examine the self-limiting beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.

I am in my mid-life body years but my spirit and soul are forever young. I love people. I value my innate ability for unconditional positive regard for all souls. I believe all people are born good and beautiful, but through tough life experiences we get stuck in pain and fear. By identifying autonomic body responses and the connection to our thoughts there is a way to get back to the person we were intended to be, happy and full of life.
