I am also an out of network provider.
I am not currently accepting new clients. My passion is working with college students and adults. I help clients navigate the parts of their life that are feeling particularly difficult. You may be feeling stuck in life, experiencing anxiety/depression, or having issues within your relationship. You may also be feeling off without knowing where to even start. These are typical starting points for many clients and are challenges that can be addressed in therapy. Working together is an opportunity to explore your feelings and the type of relationship you want both with yourself and with others.

For California and NY patients, I will submit your claims as out of network for you and your insurance company will reimburse you according to your plan details.
I provide useful and in depth psychotherapy for Oregon, California, and NY residents. People are in a constant developmental process, whereby symptoms are signs of ongoing struggles to sort through past experiences while organizing oneself in present living. Depression, anxiety, & personality traits are markers of this process. Therapy with me would seek to aid in your understanding of how & why you live the way you do, and hopefully lead to change. My hope is that we can find a way for you to live more fully and for problems to be comprehensively understood, formulated and articulated, and resolved in a sustained way.

Are you struggling with substances but feel “rehab” isn’t right for you? You don’t need to leave your job or family for a month to find the help you need. Addiction is tough: that compulsion to go back and do the same thing over and over, even though you know it's destroying your life... You feel fear, anxiety, failure, worthlessness, humiliation, contempt... You've tried to break the 'habit', get your control back, but just when you start feeling some success you stumble, and you're back in the same hole again. Breaking your substance abuse alone is not as simple as it sounds. Counseling may be more effective for you than rehab.

Because each person is different, there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. Ultimately, the right therapist can help you develop a greater sense of peace and self-fulfillment. So it is important to choose someone with whom you feel safe and comfortable; someone who will listen, empathize, and respect your needs; and someone with the skills necessary to support you in reaching your goals. In the process, you will acquire greater self-awareness, and learn to cope more effectively with life issues. This is my approach to therapy. I hope I will be able to help you.

My goal is to help people put their life back on track! Eating, weight and body image issues can derail a person's focus and purpose. Healing from the inside out and the outside in releases a person from the tyranny of perfection. Learning to put food and feelings into proper perspective is a realistic and achievable goal.

Out of Network Therapists
An out-of-network Therapist in San Diego has not agreed to any set rate with your insurer. Your plan may require higher co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance for out-of-network care and you may need to pay the difference between your insurer's allowed amount and what the Therapist charges.

The costs for a San Diego out-of-network Therapist also depend on your type of plan:

In a Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO, or Exclusive Provider Network, or EPO, you generally have to pay the full cost of any out-of-network care.

In a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Point-of-Service (POS) plan, you will usually have to pay a higher deductible and or a higher co-pay plus a higher percentage co-insurance plus, the difference between the allowed amount and your provider's actual rate.
