Anxiety, trauma, and major life changes can leave you feeling unsteady—like you're constantly adjusting, but never quite finding solid ground. You may appear capable to others while silently battling self-doubt, exhaustion, or memories that surface when you least expect. With an MS from California Baptist University and training in ACT, CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches, I help adults navigate these internal storms with clarity and intention.

You may appear capable and put-together on the outside, yet feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained inside. Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning adults who struggle with overthinking, follow through, boundaries, people-pleasing, relationship stress, or burnout. You want a more peaceful life and you're self-aware, but insight alone hasn’t been enough to create lasting change.

Grief has a way of shaking everything loose—your sense of safety, your routines, even your own identity. Whether you're managing trauma, navigating panic, or just trying to find solid ground, it can feel like life is asking too much of you. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with an LMFT from National University and a BASW from Cal State San Bernardino. After losing my husband while raising children, I knew I wanted to be there for others the way people had shown up for me—especially in moments when things felt unmanageable.

Therapy offers a safe space away from the responsibilities of your daily life, where you can process, recalibrate, and practice new skills. One of my specialties is assisting people in difficult life transitions such as divorce, career change, death of a loved one, or a phase of life transition to name a few. Together, I can help you find some acceptance of the new condition, grieve losses, and find some hope for the new. With couples & families, my goal is to create space for us to slow down, understand the negative cycle you might be stuck in and build in ways of communicating where everyone can feel heard.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
