Life is full of uncertainty, stressors, changes, and challenges and at times these issues weigh heavy on us. Sometimes our traditional coping, resources, and knowledge are not enough to help us manage the increase in worry, distress, sadness, or relationship conflict. We may feel drained, tired, and alone, no matter how resilient or strong we are. Sometimes we experience traumatic situations that are confusing, paralyzing, and terrifying and we no longer feel safe or understand our emotional response. Any of these experiences can be overwhelming, but a supportive therapeutic relationship can be helpful at these moments.
