You have found a safe, judgment-free space for kinksters, non-monogamists, swingers, and people with otherwise “alternative” relationship structures, dynamics, and roles to discuss issues of sexuality and identity. As a gay, kinky, queer therapist, I understand the complexities and importance of relationships - both with each other and with ourselves. If you experience disordered eating, we will work together, utilizing the Healthy at Every Size (HAES) approach, to holistically heal and restructure your overall mindset toward food and your physical body. Because bodies of all sizes deserve to be loved and respected.

I specialize in EMDR therapy — a research-backed approach that helps the brain heal from trauma and emotional distress.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to work on themselves — curious, open, and willing to face what’s been getting in the way of healing. They may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in self-doubt, or burdened by past experiences they can’t quite shake. Whether it’s “Big T” trauma (like abuse, loss, or neglect) or “small t” trauma (like chronic stress, bullying, or emotional invalidation), they carry the weight of it in their body and mind. They’re looking for clarity, confidence, and emotional peace — not just to function, but to feel whole again.

I specialize in trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy using EMDR and Brainspotting.
Are you someone who has always been capable and driven, yet lately finds that everything feels heavier and harder? Perhaps work is filled with constant pressure, self-doubt, or a fear of getting it wrong. Maybe your relationships feel strained or painful, marked by betrayal, emotional distance, or overwhelm that seems to come out of nowhere. You may notice that you feel easily flooded, different from others, or unsure why old patterns keep repeating. These experiences can leave you longing for relief, safety, and real change. While this kind of pain can feel unsolvable, healing is possible, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can unpack what’s on your mind and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, identity questions, or trying to feel more at ease in your own skin, I’m here to support you. I work from a sex-positive, neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive lens and believe healing happens when you’re seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about understanding your story and finding new ways to care for yourself as you grow. I also affirm and support those exploring CNM or nontraditional relationships/bonds.

I am certified in EMDR, and I offer a unique blend of CBT and EMDR so I can tailor the approach to your needs.
There are many different types of “sucker punches” that can cause people to seek counseling. It might be an accident, serious illness or a return from deployment that has set your world off-kilter. It might be a partner who told you he doesn’t love you any more, or it could even be you with that feeling. It may just be the accumulation of anxiety that has you thinking there has got to be a better way. There is hope!

I use a handful of different modalities with the primary two being EMDR and parts work (IFS).
I work with women who have recently experienced a traumatic event and help them return to a sense of normal. I also work with women who have experienced traumas in the distant past but who have been feeling chronically anxious, depressed, out of control and/or hopeless. Perhaps you cannot remember the last time you did not feel anxious or depressed. Or perhaps your body being in stress for so many years has created health issues. Or perhaps you have turned to compulsive behaviors to escape or numb the pain such as over drinking, over eating, perfectionism, codependency, dieting, binge watching TV and more.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
