I work with Filipino/a/x Americans who are navigating identity, healing, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in exploring the impact of colonialism and colonial mentality, while creating space for decolonial healing through frameworks like Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino Psychology) and Filipino American Psychology. Many of the people I support are working through anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, self-esteem, and men’s issues, often shaped by intergenerational messages and cultural expectations. Together, we’ll explore how these experiences have influenced your sense of self and relationships.

As a California licensed psychotherapist with a degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling, I strive to integrate spiritual teaching with counseling and psychotherapy.
Suffering can be emotional pain, physical pain, pain caused by love, death, or even loss. Sometimes our suffering can be more than we can bear and we need help to understand the source of our pain and acceptance of it. Very often we are unaware of the thoughts that cause us pain. By becoming aware of the thoughts behind suffering, you can change the thoughts and promote peace. In other words, you can condition yourself to believe and behave differently and eventually suffering diminishes.

Relationships can be both beautiful and challenging. If you find yourself in the midst of a relationship that is full of conflict, anger, confusion, and resentment, or if you are trying to prevent your relationship from these areas you are in the right place. You might find yourself thinking, “What happened to us? All we seem to do is fight. I can’t remember the last time we enjoyed ourselves together. Where did the love and the passion go? Maybe we just aren’t a good fit for each other anymore.” You may be terrified this relationship might end up similar to your past relationships or repeat family patterns.

You’re someone others rely on: capable, thoughtful, and used to holding things together, but underneath, you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, adjusting to a life transition, or carrying the quiet pressure of high expectations, therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening and create meaningful, lasting change.

Being a neurodivergent woman (ADHD, autism, gifted, or highly sensitive) in a world that wasn’t built for you can lead to a dysregulated nervous system. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, trauma responses, disconnection, or constant overwhelm, not because anything is wrong with you, but because you’ve had to adapt in order to survive. You may be insightful, capable, and deeply aware of others, yet stuck in patterns of overthinking or people-pleasing. You want relief that goes deeper than coping and helps you feel calmer, safer, and more like yourself. If this sounds like you, I can help!

Spirituality is also the foundation of many of our lives, and I have experience working with clients from a faith-based approach, integrating Christian values to promote healing.
Do you ever wonder, "how did I get here"? We all experience seasons in our life of feeling stuck, which can often breed hopelessness. Many of us take on codependent patterns characterized by people-pleasing, shame, anxiety, depression, and feelings of worthlessness. This can feel scary and confusing, keeping us in our 'stuckness'. I am passionate about working with individuals and couples struggling with these challenges and hardships, often inherited through long-standing relationships with narcissistic personalities.

My clients are those who are seeking deeper healing and clarity in their lives. They may be wrestling with identity, relational wounds, anxiety, or feeling stuck in cycles that no longer serve them. They want to feel seen, heard, and safe, emotionally and spiritually. Their goals include building self-awareness, developing healthier relationships, and reconnecting with their authentic self. They seek therapy because they’re ready for growth, tired of feeling alone in their pain, and hopeful that change is possible with the right support beside them.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
