I work with children and teens of all ages, and specialize in working with “littles” (ages 0-5), with extensive training in early childhood mental health. I specialize in helping children cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficult life transitions, and often take a cognitive-behavioral approach to teach adaptive coping skills to help kids manage challenges. I approach my work with children by viewing them in the context of the whole family, using a family-systems lens and attachment-based approach to strengthen family relationships and to support parents in developing tools to feel equipped to manage behavioral challenges.

Being an immigrant, a child of an immigrant, a world traveler or an international student has left you feeling disconnected and like you don't belong. You feel alone even though you are among people, busy with school, work and life. You are not alone. Many of us, who uprooted ourselves by choice of our own or someone else, experience these feelings. These feelings are normal. You're human. The isolation and lack of belonging are exhausting and you long to feel better about your life and future.

As a client-centered and attachment-based EMDR therapist, I customize my interventions to suit your unique needs.
Raising humans (and being one!) is challenging beyond measure. You plan to parent differently than how you were parented and that seems simple enough...if it weren't for the fact that your baby was up all night, your toddler is screaming at the top of his lungs while decorating his body with the oatmeal you just made him, and your big kid is crying about how none of her clothes feel right on her body and she needs all new clothes, NOW. You told yourself you wouldn't yell today, but it is barely sunrise, and the sun has already set on that goal!

I approach therapy from an attachment-based and wholistic perspective, exploring each aspect of what makes you, you: your relationships, emotions, environment, and spirituality.
Life experiences can impact us in surprising, often difficult, and even traumatic ways leaving us feeling out of touch with ourselves and those around us. We all have a desire to feel understood, and that journey often begins within ourselves. My goal in therapy is to create a space where you feel heard and safe while we explore deeper into who you are and begin to wrestle with the question “where do I go from here?”.

Treatment methods I am trained in include psychodynamic, attachment-based neuroscience, trauma-informed, CBT, ACT, gestalt, somatic, and mindfulness.
Do you keep assisting others before securing your own oxygen mask? My clients are emerging professionals, high-achievers, leaders, people-pleasers, and perfectionists who tend to be successful in their professional lives but struggle in their personal relationships. While on the outside they seem to have it all together, inside they are plagued by guilt, shame, fear, and self-doubt. Sound familiar? In a culture that rewards perfectionism over genuineness, it’s no wonder so many struggle. My purpose is to correct this imbalance by empowering you to appreciate your humanity and embrace your authenticity.

I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach to help couples rebuild intimacy and trust, and to help individuals heal and work to meet personal and relational goals.
It can be very frustrating to care deeply about your partner while continuing to have the same fight over and over again. Getting stuck in problematic patterns can leave you feeling misunderstood, unappreciated, or alone, and even lead to fears that you’ll never feel seen by your partner or be able to meet their needs. I’m an attachment-based therapist which means I believe our early life experiences teach us what to expect from others and what others will expect from us. The adaptations we make to protect those early relationships limit the options that are available to us when dealing with conflict.

In my work with individuals, couples, and teens, I specialize in attachment-based trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
You are not defined by the trauma you have endured. Anxiety, depression, and trauma can make it seem as if your life will forever be stuck on a constant, negative loop. The feelings of despair and hopelessness may have become so familiar that you accept them as your "normal." This pain can make it incredibly difficult to have hope and truly believe that, even for us, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The relief you crave, the joy you see in others (but have nearly convinced yourself is impossible for you), and the peace of mind you desire IS in fact possible, but you should not expect yourself do it alone.

My style is marked by a warm, grounded, intuitive presence and infuses Somatic, Internal Family Systems, Relational, Attachment-Based, Psychodynamic, Brain Spotting, and Shamanic Modalities into the healing container.
Are life's twists and turns leaving you lost, uncertain of how to clearly move forward? Do you seek to unburden yourself from the heaviness of your past? Is there a sense that you are meant for more? My passion lies in supporting people who find themselves in this place and are ready to reclaim their internal power to heal within and live more fully. I specialize in helping people reconnect with their authentic selves, clarify their life's purpose, and cultivate healthy and deep relationships through the intentional healing of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence, complex loss, and ancestral and identity-based trauma.

Being human comes with gifts. And challenges. Perhaps your feeling stressed out or sad. Maybe you have experienced significant life stressors, need support with solving specific problems or have relationships concerns. Or maybe your looking for a judgment free zone, a structured place to process life and increase self-esteem.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
