When someone significant in your life is acting out, it’s maddening. Is it them?..is it you? Are you weighed down with the effects of being raised by emotionally immature parents? Regardless, something has to shift. If you're in that space with your child,
parent
, or someone else; you know it can be a source of real suffering. There may be anger, depression, anxiety..it is stressful at the very least. Don't do this alone. Let's talk.

Parent
sessions provide an opportunity to reflect and reevaluate how you show up for your child.
When children and teens become flooded with emotion, it’s difficult for them to identify, let alone voice, uncomfortable feelings. Their (sometimes challenging) behavior often indicates what they need. I provide developmentally appropriate ways for children to comfortably enact/express what’s going on beneath the surface during heightened emotional states. In my work with your child, we’ll take a deep dive into the attachment styles, nervous system states, and maladaptive coping skills behind the behaviors that impede their ability to thrive at home, school, or in social settings. Moreover, we'll have fun doing this meaningful work.

My passion is in helping people live more fully as their true authentic selves, and to be the person,
parent
, partner they most deeply wish to be.
Here is what I believe: Everyone needs an objective person to help support and guide them through life’s challenges, transitions and hurdles. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is a trusting, nonjudgmental, and compassionate relationship with your therapist; therapy should feel safe, and provide you relief. I enjoy working with people from different background to help them discover their true self and overcoming the obstacles that may obscure their journey to happiness and self-fulfillment. I utilize humanistic mindful approaches to support wellness.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
