I specialize in providing evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, for individuals with OCD , anxiety and problematic substance use.
I help individuals who are feeling stuck or disconnected explore what's getting in the way, and create a life that they find meaningful and fulfilling. I do this using evidence based methods that are tailored to the person's specific values, preferences, and needs. I believe that identifying your strengths and what drives you is as important as pinpointing problem areas. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free atmosphere so you can connect with your purpose, your most authentic self, and in turn, with others in your life.

I have experience with individuals facing eating disorders, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relational issues, OCD , self esteem issues, PTSD, grief and loss, teen issues, and attachment struggles.
Sharing our inner experiences with someone can often feel frightening, which is exactly why I place such an importance on connection and acceptance in the therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe environment that will invite my clients to delve deeper into their personal narrative, as I truly believe we are not built to process emotions alone. As humans, we all have a propensity to grow and become our true selves, unfortunately we aren’t always gifted with the circumstances to allow it. I am passionate about creating a space for not only self-discovery and self acceptance, but to allow clients to feel seen, heard, and valued.

I am fascinated by the affects of attachment and bonding on interpersonal relationships and have a deep commitment to helping people articulate and address the core issues with which they struggle. I am currently working towards my PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification), as I am passionate about supporting women and families experiencing fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy/infant loss, TFMR, grief, adoption, and parenting. I am a a mom who struggled with postpartum anxiety and OCD with both of my pregnancies, so I know firsthand how shameful and isolating these experiences can be.

In my experience working in many different counseling contexts, I have come to believe in the healing of a safe space with unconditional listening. I have supported clients through crisis, transitions, grief, relational strain, major anxieties, depression, everyday stressors and growing pains. My educational background is in psychology and faith integration, which supports my approach in helping deconstruct beliefs and/or incorporating truths and traditions into practice. Our current Covid-19 climate of living, can be highly stressful and anxiety provoking for many people. Are you feeling anxious? Down? Stuck? Frustrated? Not sure what it is but cannot put your finger on it? Perhaps you have experienced a crisis and feel like you are spinning out of control. Or maybe life somehow now feels unmanageable. This is not at all unusual, and IS very recoverable. It is my pleasure to help you make sense of it, regain your footing, and help you get back on track.

People often see me when they have tried everything. Imagine what you could achieve if you got straight to the point. While different therapists may be suited to different clients, my high success rate is due to 15 years teaching college level psychology and my exceptional training in hypnotherapy by arguably some of the world's best. Over the years I have helped hundreds of people realize the success they desire. My technique allows you to see immediate results and requires minimal time. There's so much to gain.

I enjoy working with clients who are curious. That's pretty much the only buy-in we need to get started! No matter the issue, curiosity is the gateway to find healing. I never try to "fix" anything in my clients' lives. Instead, we journey into the unknown together, to discover what could be leading to the "stuckness" you might be feeling. With compassion, courage, and a sense of calm, there is ALWAYS hope for healing. I can help you find those resources within yourself, because I know it's who you are at your core.

My belief is that unless we get to the heart of the matter of whatever is causing your grief, solutions will only go so far. My approach is holistic; helping you heal core insecurities that are causing you this grief. I use a combination of approaches including cognitive behavioral, psycho dynamic, inner child, and humanistic modalities to help you see how your past is impacting some of your difficulties today. By facilitating a process of becoming aware, I will help you relinquish unconscious beliefs that are holding you back and identify what you need to make change.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions). It affects children, kids, teens and adults. Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety. A person's level of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if severe and left untreated, it can destroy a person's capacity to function at work, at school or even to lead a comfortable existence in the home.
