You may be the person everyone relies on who keeps moving forward despite feeling exhausted inside. Perhaps you've spent years putting others first, struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, unresolved trauma, or a constant feeling that you're never quite enough. Many of my clients are successful on the outside, yet feel disconnected and stuck in patterns they can't seem to break. Together, we'll uncover what's keeping you stuck, heal old wounds, and help you reconnect with the person you were before life taught you to doubt yourself.

Using an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, and IFS Therapy with other evidence based treatments (CBT, ACT, DBT, harm reduction, and mindfulness), we'll tailor our work together to whatever needs you have in the moment while always working towards your longer-term goals.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, stress, depression, a particularly challenging life transition, or some form of trauma, you don't need to keep struggling alone. In fact, you don't need to keep "struggling" at all. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying everything will get better as soon as you start therapy. Yes, I can provide the skills and tools you need to better cope with the symptoms you're facing. But healing takes effort. However, if you're ready to do the work to better understand who you are, the pain you're currently experiencing can serve as a catalyst for profound transformation, growth, and positive lasting change.

I integrate DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing with EMDR to help with anxiety, depression, loss, and life transitions.
I work with individuals and families across every stage of life, from transitional-age youth to older adults. By the time most people reach out to me, they're carrying more than they let on — anxiety that won't quiet down, the weight of grief or something they've been through, the strain of a big life transition, or a quiet sense that they've drifted from who they are. Some feel alone and stuck; some just want a steadier place to think. Whatever brought you here, it matters. I believe you're the expert on your own life, and my role is to hold a space that builds on your strengths while we add new tools for what feels overwhelming.

EMDR therapy is very different from traditional talk therapy.
EMDR therapy doesn’t require talking in detail about a distressing issue. EMDR focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts or behaviors that result from a distressing experience by using bilateral stimulation, typically guided eye movements. This allows unprocessed “stuck” memories to be reprocessed, freeing you from those negative beliefs and feelings.

I am trained in Attachment Focused EMDR for virtual or in person sessions.
As a clinician, I integrate relational mindfulness, somatic awareness skills, a sense of humor, and attachment-focused EMDR skills, within an anti-oppression framework. I will encourage you to deepen your mind-body awareness, listen to and respect signals you get from your body and question the beliefs underlying repetitive negative emotional states.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
