While talk therapy methods are a beginning point of the therapeutic practice, I incorporate mindful awareness, visualization, somatic exercises, story and collage art , and Jungian sand tray therapies to heal anxiety, trauma, and depression.
I am the founder of Wellspring Psychological Services and supervising psychologist for this group private practice. I specialize in creating mind and body wholeness, helping to bring balance back into life. I have a passion for working with teens and young adults, particularly because the challenges of adolescence require a unique and strong client/therapist personality fit. Students in residency and couples in transition can take advantage of my 15 years of clinical expertise. My mission is to create a therapeutic space where each person is able to fully show up and create a more contented and peaceful life.

My ideal client has some insight and understands that therapy is work. It's not just about having me (or anyone else) solve their problems -- it's something that has to be done jointly. They also need to be willing to listen and change.

“Therapy, yeah that’s not for me”, may have been a thought that has crossed your mind once, twice or many times. So look at this as a huge step in the right direction for you, as you look at profiles and possibly make a decision to invest in yourself. I've been in your shoes and looking for a therapist can be scary and intimidating. Your story is for you to share when you’re ready and with someone that you trust . You may be at a point in your journey in which you are experiencing difficult and unexpected feelings and emotions that you are trying to make sense of or find answers to. That is where I hope to help you.

Does the world seem chaotic and to not make sense? Does it seem like you should be able to do more, but just can’t? Does it seem like there are social rules everyone else knows? Does it seem like when things go wrong, it’s your fault, but you don’t know why? Are you exhausted from ‘playing the role' of yourself in your life, trying to ‘do it right'? All families want peace, all individuals want greater ease and understanding in their lives. With over 25 years of providing services to exceptional individuals, I know the importance of having the right support for the need at hand.

My goals as a therapist are to create a safe and supportive environment in which clients can share their thoughts and feelings freely, to learn more effective coping skills and interventions in order to ease symptoms and solve problems as well as gaining deeper insight about themselves, the world and their future. My approach is to meet clients where they are in life without judgement. Therapy sessions are collaborative where client and therapist examine and question client's distorted thoughts and core beliefs as well as developing positive strategies and healthier ways of thinking as they move forward in their lives.

Hi! I was born and raised in the Bay Area and my current practice is located in Hayward, CA. I am a female in my mid 40s who is married with an 8 year old daughter. I have a strong passion for the creative arts and I'm drawn to various music genres and photography. When I'm not doing therapy, I am spending time with family, gardening, or working on a creative project. I specialize in Art Therapy , which allows deeper insight and mindfulness. The art you create is combined with talk therapy to help cope with stress and trauma. Art experience is not required and is not used with every client.

I have a background in visual art , improv, and theater, all of which led me to become a psychotherapist and all of which inform my work in every way.
With a combination of complementary modalities, I specialize in working with trauma, mood disorders (anxiety, depression and bipolar), ethically non-monogamous relationships/polyamory, folx in the LGBTQ+ community, and substance users. I think of psychotherapy as a necessary form of social activism toward a larger goal of equity for people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of ability, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Let's work together to bring you back to yourself, your relationships and your community!

Counselor, MS, CHT
At Northeastern University, my Master's degree in Health Education, included art and recreational therapy which I used as a clinician in community mental health and psychiatric facilities before getting a post graduate credential in holistic health, adding extensive training in clinical hypnotherapy, acupressure and Body/ Mind Health and Wellness.
Hypnotherapy connects you to the power of the subconscious mind, and combined with holistic counseling and acupressure, old self defeating patterns based on trauma or self-doubt can be released. Underneath these old patterns, your true confidence, resilience, and strength lie hidden. These are natural human qualities which we all can experience when the mind turns away from negativity and fear toward trust and wholeness. It requires a shift of attention from the conditioned mind to the real presence of your own authentic self which the "BodyMind Transformation' process encourages and facilitates.

I work from a relational, strengths-based, and insight-oriented framework, and use a variety of theories and tools, including coping- and skills-focused activities, somatics, mindfulness, play therapy, and art .
Psychotherapy is a powerful tool for healing. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, it is possible to improve connections with others, build deeper awareness of feelings and experiences, and find relief from old patterns that no longer serve you. I believe that each client’s strengths provide the foundation for our collaborative work in therapy. Building on your strengths and resiliencies, we can begin to shift places in your life where you feel stuck, and to cultivate hope. It is an honor for me to witness your process and to join you in your journey toward healing.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
