I invite poly, monogamous, and
kink
folks.
Being sensitive in this world isn't easy. If you identify as a healer or a highly sensitive/empathetic person, you may find yourself trying to use your gifts to "save" others. You may find that people easily open up to you. You may also find that a lot of your dating life has been based on healing, changing, and helping others. It leaves little room for your needs, leading to dysfunctional relationships. When you continuously have projects instead of partners you might be worried your "picker" is broken. It's not broken. It's just not your job to heal everyone. It's time to find a relationships based on reciprocity.

I am experienced in working with both polyamorous/non-monogomous and monogamous relationships, as well as folks in the
kink
community.
My approach is centered around curiosity, possibility, and the celebration of each individual’s unique story. I offer a collaborative therapeutic environment that counters normativity and recognizes the impact of oppressive systems within our society. I utilize narrative therapy in my work, this approach will recognize your personal values and highlight your skills. I aim to assist you in exploring and strengthening the version of you that might be struggling to come to the surface.

Or maybe you feel far away from one another, and time spent in one another’s company has gradually grown tense and aloof. I possess a
sex positive
outlook and understanding of the powerful influence that sexuality has on a person's life.
My awareness of human sexuality rises above my own personal opinion and experiences. I affirm all sexual orientations and transgender experience. I help people reclaim their authentic sexual selves within their particular spiritual/religious/lifeview practice and I tailor my treatment to best fit each individual client. I address a client's sexual issues directly. I don't sidestep the sex part to deal with the other issues in the relationship, although I don't ignore them either. Physiological, psychological, emotional and spiritual processes, are all a part of human sexuality and I understand that an integrated approach is necessary.

As a poly/non-monogamy,
kink
, sex-positive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, this means I work with people in a variety of consensual relationship configurations.
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist who found myself in the mental health field as a result of a gamut of lived experience – I know too well how difficult it can be to find a therapeutic space where you “fit.” This world is heavy enough without the added difficulty of summoning the strength to reach out for help, only to feel like you must change yourself to access therapeutic support. It’s a terrible, gut-wrenching feeling that I have personally experienced. This will not happen with me.

I am queer, poly,
kink
aligned, and neurodiverse and have recently submitted my hours to be a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in the LGBTQIA community.
You've been thinking about therapy, but you are worried about judgement from the therapist or are afraid that they won't understand you or your identity. You know you want a therapist who is neurodiverse and a part of the LGBTQ+ community. You know that you are ready to make changes in your life, but you feel like it would be easier if you had someone supporting you through those changes. You want your therapist to be honest but empathetic, and someone who can create a safe environment for you to share your secrets that you haven't been able to share with anyone else.

A Certified Sexual Wellness Therapist & Psychologist, I work with the
kink
, LGBTQ+, and ENM communities.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could more fully enjoy sex without worrying about how your body looks, feels, smells, or if it will (or won't) function "properly?" While most people want to have more enjoyable sex, many don't know where to start. It can be difficult to navigate the complexities of sex, desire, pleasure, and relationships without knowledgeable help. That's where I come in. I specialize in helping adults with sexuality concerns, performance anxieties, desire discrepancy, relationship communication, porn use, & those exploring
kink
/BDSM & non-monogamous relationships.

As James Baldwin famously said, "not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed unless faced", I also offer you the following poem: "When we feel safe, anything is possible. We become unstoppable. Because we have a firm ground to launch and a safe ground to land. We can then stand. Voice ourselves, show ourselves. Life becomes a dance."

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.
Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.
How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
