Thank you for exploring my webpage. I realize that doing so is a significant step and I hope that this information helps guide you in seeking the support you may need. I have been practicing in the field of clinical and neuropsychology for 20 years. Many individuals with whom I work are experiencing heightened stress, anxiety or depression in response to life circumstances, such as accidents/injuries, health issues, parenting challenges, and other provocative life situations. I offer a supportive environment to explore the ways in which such challenges may be motivating my clients to feel and behave as they do.

I use a
psychodynamic
and relational approach to support you in understanding how this coping skill became your "go-to".
Are you tired of your life revolving around what you've eaten, how you look, or what you weigh? Maybe you feel out of control around food followed by guilt and shame? Many of my clients struggle with body image, and are tired of feeling like food, exercise, and weight dictate their happiness. If you've tried every diet, and are tired of your mood being affected by a number, therapy can help! I support clients in finding intuitive eating, body neutrality and body trust. I also work with couples struggling with communication, trust, and sex. As well as individuals facing codependency and life transitions.

Many of us feel disconnected from ourselves and experience symptoms that constrict our lives and relationships. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe environment where people can comfortably explore their longstanding, repetitive patterns, work through past trauma, integrate previously disowned parts of self, and discover their inner strengths. Using a holistic and integrative approach grounded in
psychodynamic
theory, I am committed to helping my clients gain insight and self-awareness and feel empowered to alter their present experiences by making intentional decisions that align with their values.

Hi there! Welcome to one more step in your search for the life you want. Therapy is one way to increase joy, be reminded of whats wonderful about yourself, and overcome the barriers that have blocked you in the past. It also gives you the tools to continue that process. Collaboratively we strengthen your sense of worth so that you have the energy and motivation to work toward your personal goals. Increasing self-compassion and awareness frees an individual from the habits or ruts we all tend to dip into in life.

I use an integrative approach to therapy, rooted in
psychodynamic
and attachment theories.
The last few years have been tough. While the world is seemingly back to “normal,” you feel far from it. From the outside, it looks like you've got it all figured out, but internally you know something's missing. You long to make meaningful connections, but feel disconnected from yourself and struggle to let others in. You might even feel like it's safer to keep others at a distance. But there's also a part of you that deeply desires connection and healing. You can have the life and relationships you want! Schedule with me today at www.lovehealgrow.com.

Using CBT, mindfulness and experiential techniques, and drawing upon
psychodynamic
, relational, and attachment theories, my aim is to find a good fit for you to help you be more of who you want to be.
I want to help you better know, understand, and most importantly accept yourself. All too often we carry around with us hidden beliefs that we are not acceptable as we are. We say to ourselves: "If only I were better at..." "I am just a fraud..." "If anyone really knew who I was..." We feel that we should be a certain way first in order to be deserving of the relationships that we really want. My goal is to help you work through these unhelpful core beliefs and ultimately have a more full and fulfilling life.

I choose a
psychodynamic
therapy model that best fits the presenting problems and goals of each person, couple or family.
I help people to better understand themselves, their psychological distress and their relationships. I focus on helping each person discover what they need to relieve suffering, to develop helpful coping skills and to improve relationships. When a person heals psychological wounds, learns helpful coping skills and makes desired personal and relationship changes, they experience not just relief but a greater feeling of wholeness . I work in a collaborative fashion and believe that empathy and understanding are key elements in my helping each person .

The therapeutic journey begins internally by listening to the heart when it tells us there is a need for change in our lives. Second is having the courage to admit when we need outside support to begin this change, and finally being bold enough to use our voices to seek out the assistance of a therapist. Therapy with the right therapist can be helpful to everyone. my preferred theoretical approach is client-centered. A client-centered therapeutic approach allows me to meet my clients where they are at and together develop the appropriate path forward. Other theoretical approaches include; CBT, DBT, experiential, &
psychodynamic
.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
