Hello, my name is Teri Hedman and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I take a holistic approach to healing and I would love to partner with you on your journey. I have a strong background in supporting folks navigating trauma and addiction. I believe whether or not we have a substance addiction, we all have something to “recover” from in the epic journey that is our life. I have found that in this process, we also can discover and reclaim our true selves and reorient to living a thriving life. I also have specialized training focused on supporting women, especially in the postpartum period and other transitions.

I approach psychotherapy from a whole-person perspective and I believe therapy, along with other practices, can help us awaken to a life of meaning. In therapy I will help you identify the source of your longing to be whole, and together, we will move closer to that source, so you become re-sourced. Together we will explore your innate natural cycles and help you align to your own rhythm, so that you might meet depletion with rest and energy with creativity.

I have a strong belief that it is never too late to make a change in life. My own journey to becoming an LMFT did not begin until my mid-30's. Since being Licensed in 2010, I have worked in various settings, including Community Clinics, Schools, Group Practices and my own Private Practice. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to find solutions to problems that are getting in the way of them living their authentic and satisfying lives.

I became a therapist because I want to support people as they work to become their truest selves. Change and growth are possible for everyone, no matter what the circumstances are. You are not alone, and there is nothing wrong with you. Whether you have experienced trauma, as many of us have, or whether you simply want to better understand yourself, therapy is an effective tool to get where you want to go.

Hey! I’m Afshin — pronounced “of-sheen,” like the glimmer in your eye when you realize you're allowed to feel your feelings and still be funny about it.
Looking for someone who’s real, queer, neurodivergent-friendly, and actually shows up in the room with you? I’m really glad you’re here.
I work with new parents running on crumbs and caffeine, teens navigating identity and pressure, young adults facing messy transitions, and LGBTQIA+ folks tired of translating their experience for people who just don’t get it.

I have always enjoyed working in a position that allows me to be of service to others; whether that be in a community customer service role, lending a helping hand, being a good listener, or providing community resources to those in need. There have been very important people in my life that did not have access to necessary support when they needed it most. My decision to do this work was significantly influenced by their lifelong struggles. If the role I play in another person's life helps to increase their quality of life, even if just a little, that's progress.
